Great story with a lovely romance and sensuous lovemaking. The narrator was extraordinary. I loved the adventure and the humor.
Some unusual and entertaining plotting for an historical, and I always love it when authors throw a little American chaos into tidy English aristocracy.
I actually didn't realize this was book 3 of this family's tale; I went ahead and bought #2 to go properly backwards.
"What a fun romp!"
Absolutely! I loved that both lead characters are delightful characters developed in a most heartening story. Neither is ever a total jerk or a shrew...very refreshing.
I knew that when Prudence nailed her target, the she was a force to be reckoned with.
Her voice is amazing...so believable!
"Love the Cabot sisters and love Julia London!"
Great continuation of the Cabot sisters stories. Nice job on the narration. A great read!!!
"Part of a series"
Since this wasn't labeled as part of a series, I thought this was a stand alone novel. It was fine by itself, but I could tell that I would have enjoyed it more knowing about the older Cabot sisters and how they met and married.
Rosalyn Landor was wonderful as always and it certainly didn't hurt that some of the characters were American to help differentiate between voices.
I thought the end dragged a bit (let's just get to the HEA already !). A good listen, but read the first 2 books.
"Great addition to the series"
I enjoyed this as much as the previous books in the series and would recommend it.
"Story did not engage me"
I had a hard time getting through this book even though Rosalyn Landor is a great narrator. I'm not sure why, but I almost didn't finish. The characters just did not engage my interest.
"Don't waste your credit."
Would not recommend, just barley finished it myself.
Hopefully, something new from Kresley Cole.
Rosalyn Landor is the best, love her voice.
I have several of Julia London's book that I have enjoyed.
"Terrible 'American' male voice for hero"
It might be a good book, not sure, but the lead male voice on this character is terrible. The narrator has a beautiful voice but apparently was unable to establish an American male voice without making it sound like the hero has a stick up his a**. Terribly unattractive, and I did not finish the book because of the grating effect it had on me. Also, if one is going to employ such tactics, it would be fair to the potential buyer to include them in the preview. I have to this point used previews just to get a sense of whether I like the narrator's voice and style. Now I know to listen to the full 5 minutes to see how they interpret the various characters (and that is IF the other prominent voices are included in the preview). I am not sure that this preview included any of the male voice at all.
