Love to listen whilst doing the chores.
Well worth downloading, I loved this from beginning to end and was disappointed when it was finished. Having read some less than favourable reviews I was a bit sceptical but it certainly did not disappoint . It was perhaps what I would call a good holiday read, not too taxing but certainly very, very enjoyable. If you read for enjoyment and not to analyse and interpret then this is well worth reading.
You are back, the past couple of books have be a bit Mills and Boon and the books I really enjoyed were the early life stories. I must admit I wanted to slap the Father as he was such a wimp but he came good in the end. I always think your main character always draws you in so she could be your best friend by the end of the book. A very good read or listen.
Without spoiling a plot line for readers, I found that there were tears running down my face as I was listening to how the family coped with Neil's story. This happened in my family and I was struck by the accurate portraying of reactions of other people.
Over all I enjoyed listening to it and was sad when it ended.
I enjoyed this book and was gripped from the beginning but the reader sounded about 15 and it sounded ridiculous when she was reading the supposed words of a 90 year old. At times it was also hard to tell who was speaking.
The book is shallow and loathsome. The characters are horrible. The narrator sounds pompous and you cannot understand which one of the characters is talking.
At times the book is cheese other times I would rather hear nails screeching against metal rather than listen to the narrator go on about badly thought through self entitled characters that have done well for themselves and treat the rest of the world like inferior beings. The book then let's it's self down by switching the charaters' attitude from day to night and them going onto accept their half sister as if they had never acted so superior and selfishly.
I get what the author was try
As an audio book the story is ok & nicely narrated - however part 2 failed to download & the screen message stated 'file corrupted' so I have been unable to finish the story.
I attemped to download part 2 several times.
I reported this however the issue was not resolved nor was an alternative title offered.
"Really lovely story"
I love Finty Williams reading this style of book, it really suits her voice. I enjoyed the main charachter Katie Lavender.
I don't usually listen to romance novels but this had depth and kindness, a lovely story read by a wonderful narrator.
