From the author of the best-selling Some Day I'll Find You comes a novel of dark suspense set in the Lake District, where, beneath the inviting water of the lakes, danger and death are waiting.
The summer of 1976 was unprecedented in living memory. Days of blazing sunshine bled into weeks and months. In the Lake District, Cumbria's mountains and valleys began to resemble a Grecian landscape. People swam in delightfully tropic waters to cool off. But barely three feet below the surface, the temperature remained just a degree or so above freezing. As the summer blazed on, the drownings began....
What if someone wanted to take revenge? To remove an abusive, controlling partner from their life? When and where better to stage a murder and pass it off as an accidental drowning?

"An authentic and exciting story. The perfect summer read." (Clare Mackintosh, author of the best-selling I Let You Go)
So enjoyed this book! I was hooked from the start and Richard Madeley was an excellent narrator.
Can't wait for his next book
I chose this book as I wanted a change of subject matter and something light and entertaining. I'm afraid that the author spoiled things by reading too fast. A mistake made frequently by non professional actors. Other than that it was an enjoyable story albeit with characters who don't always ring true.
the whole writing style, delivery and poor was sadly lacking. There were constant repeats of what we already knew and it seemed like filling fir time.
well this was a consistent for an Audio virgin. plot was a bit predictable but characters were very good. I remember that summer very well was only 14 at the time.
If Richard Madeley had not been the main narrator.I couldn't enjoy the story as his voice took priority over the actual content.
No it would put me off.Fine as an interviewer on daytime TV.but far too strident and obtrusive for a story teller.
No,although I did like Sarah Barron,s delivery.
Probably a good story but I couldn't listen to it unfortunately.
I heard Richard talking about this book on TV and liked the idea behind it so bought it.
Pity he didn't let someone else narrate his new baby.
