Heiress Millicent Shelby has been in love with Lord Marcus Clearbrook for years. But being much younger than the handsome lord, Milli realizes she must devise a plan to marry the stubborn man. However, everything turns upside down when a wicked fortune hunter enters the scene, and unless Marcus swallows his pride and admits his love, the young heiress will fall into the enemy's hands...
This sweet historical romance series, about a duke's family, includes delightful, heartwarming love stories that bring the Regency period to life.

"Didn't like the narrator"
Because Milli comes across so young it’s hard to imagine that she’s ready for love and marriage. I usually love May/December romances, but Millie wasn't what she needed to be. I liked Marcus.
Pearl Hewitt created a very young Millie that was hard to listen to with it’s breathy airhead quality. I'm not sure that was the best choice because that was one half of the main couple the story focuses on.
"Wonderful like always"
This book is rank pretty high because I enjoy listening to this audio. The storyline keeps you interest in listening more about the story.
My favorite was Millie because you get to see how dreamy she is and how sassy she can get. She also stands behind what she believes in. She a courageous young lady.
For me I like how she did the other series audible and the fact it kept the same.
I laugh with Millie antics or Marcus reactions to Millie antics.
I would recommend this audible. Great to listen to and worth the money and time.
"Funny and heartwarming family story!"
First off I received a free copy from author for an honest review, that being said I loved this book and would recommend it to a friend. The characters are fun and memorable. This is one of my favorite regency series and it is the characters that make if so enjoyable.
There are so many memorable moments, but I think my favorite is when Millie sets aside her own disappointment and focuses all her effort on helping Jane and Roderick after the loss of their baby. I love how she takes control of the situation, especially how she starts bossing Roderick around to keep him from being melancholy.
Yes, I love Pearl Hewitt! She has narrated all of the Clearbook novels and I think that in this one she really came into her element. She has different voices for all the characters. I think I loved her narration so much due to the part where Millie gets drunk. She is hiccuping and burping and slurring her words and it sounds so real. That whole section made me laugh out loud.
I think the part in the book that moved me the most was when Jane lost her baby and Millie insisted that they couldn't give up and how she forced them to stay positive thorough out the whole story.
I stuck to it through 4 chapters, hoping it would get better. I'm returning it.
