Publisher's Summary

When a car accident takes Leah Sunderland's life, she finds herself in dire need of divine assistance. Her fairy godmother comes to the rescue, but her help comes with conditions. As a fairy godmother, the only assistance she can offer deals with (you guessed it) fairy tales. To win a second chance at life, Leah must play out the tale of The Little Mermaid. Armed with a mermaid tail and nothing else (not even a voice), she has one month to make a nobleman fall in love with her, or else she'll die permanently. But the nobleman she must seduce is a hard, fierce warlord who thinks she's a spy and the mistress of his enemy. Can she win him over before the 30 days are up? Or is she in danger of losing her heart as well as her life?

    Story
"Book was great but the narrators voice could've been a bit more clear."

The book was amazing but the narrator has this sort of low voice and sometimes even when the volume was up it was hard to hear her words clearly because of the reverberance of her own voice.

    Story
    "A rollercoaster of emotions!"
What made the experience of listening to The Mermaid's Knight the most enjoyable?

The story in this book took my emotions for a roller-coaster ride! One moment I was laughing, the next I was angry and wanted to jump inside the story and wring necks, and in another moment I was crying. The story gripped me and carried me along from beginning to end, and I could barely put it down. Jill Myles has done an outstanding job in bringing her characters alive making the story engaging and made me invest a lot in the characters as the story progressed.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Among the many rich characters in this book I absolutely fell in love with the main character, Leah, and I got really emotionally invested in her. In addition I adored the cute, quirkiness of the fairy godmother! Making me laugh and sigh in exasperation almost every time she showed up. Holly McCarthy's only added to her with her very good voice acting.

What about Hollis McCarthy’s performance did you like?

Holly McCarthy did an excellent job in portraying the different characters when recording this audio book. The voices of each character were mostly consistent and she did a great job in portraying each character's personality.

    Story
    "It was okay but ......"

I was looking for something new and decided to give this a try. It was okay not great., I mean come on write in the sand if you want to pass a message already. it dragged on for so long without a satisfactory conlusion that I almost gave up several times. I can't read the others in this series even though the idea really intrigued me .

    Story
"A Little Mermaid with a Time Traveling Twist."
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

It was a cute story. I would recommend it as a light read if you are in the mood for some whimsy.

What did you like best about this story?

The writer did a great job in allowing Leah to express herself even when she could not speak.

What does Hollis McCarthy bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She was a very good narrator and kept my attention through out the story.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    The Little Mermaid meets Outlander.

    Any additional comments?

Another person had mentioned how much the heroine of the story cried. Spoilers ahead****you meet the heroine when she realizes she has just died, to live she has to travel to the 14th century which would be a culture shock that no one but Claire Randall can pull off with aplomb, and the only support system she has is a flakey fairy godmother who has given her a fishtail with painful side effects and made her mute. Truthfully, I would find anyone who was put in this situation hard pressed to not to cry as often as she did.
