"THIS BOOK WAS A TRUE SURPRISE!!! LOVED IT"
There is no sex only the inuindo of sex!! Somehow it captivated me from the first word. The narration was excellent so that truly made it better. I am so surprised that this book was so entertaining. I know you will enjoy it. It's funny believable and not HOT but it's sexy. I LOVE LOVE LOVED IT😍😍😍😍
"LOVED, LOVED, LOVED THIS BOOK"
This book was fun and sexy. I'm surprised my face isn't soar from smiling for 9.5 hours. This is the type of book, for me, to listen to after a dark and intense book.
Rachel Van Dyken did a great job drawing you in and getting you to relate and invest in the characters.
Jeremy York performed a sexy voice for Ian. I also loved his voice for Lex. His female voice for Blake and Gabby were also belivable and distinctive.
I will listen to this book over and over.
I bought this book and sale for under $10 but it is absolutely worth a credit.
"Another hilarious one from RVD!"
5 Crazy Ass Must Listen Stars!!!!!
RVD does it again with this hilarious start to a new series! I went into this blind not having read the blurb or anything. After reading the Consequences series, I just had to see if RVD had in her to continue the hilarious stories she writes. Well, I wasn't disappointed in the least. This had me laughing out loud and at times laugh until my stomach hurt. I even had a few "spit my drink out" moments.
Ian and Blake's banter was the best. Their story had me listening intently and wanting for the next hilarious moment. I never had to wait long. My favorite line was the one about the scrunchie and Napolean Dynamite. "We'll find you something else that doesn't make you look like you starred in Napoleon Dynamite, okay?"
I'm so looking forward to Lex's story. I'm off to stalk so I can see when that is expected to release.
"Almost as good as Neighbors From Hell!"
What is better than a story about a womaniser falling in love with the tomboy? How about a totally hilarious and crude story about it instead of the sickeningly sweet versions.
The two guy friends dialogue and antics reminded me so much of Jr High boys I couldn't help but laugh. Almost as enjoyable as the Neighbors From Hell book series.
"All around brilliant"
Do yourself a favor & purchase the audiobook version! The narration is phenomenal! Seriously, the timing in his storytelling was perfect. I kept thinking of Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool or Van Wilder throughout. He gives that type of delivery. Sheer perfection.
And on that same note, the story made me laugh out loud quite a bit. I love Rachel Van Dyken's books, and this one definitely did not disappoint.
"The Matchmakers Playbook Review"
When I first starting listening to this book I thought the hero was so narcissistic that I couldn't finish the book. But I'm so glad I didn't quit listening. It was a fun book about two shameless playboys, their matchmaking business and good friends. But, one of the playboys got more than he bargained for in fun but innocent tomboy. This book was funny, sweet, and sexy. Great easy read. Have fun!
"Ian is my perfect kind of book boyfriend"
Oh yes! 100% Recommended. I started reading this book without the audio companion and as soon as I check who was the narrator I had to get it. Jeremy York has a great voice and he always has great inflexions for all the characters. He's fastly becoming one of my favorite narrators. The Matchmaker's Playbook is a funny, sexy and romantic story about a guy who found love in the less expected girl, and for me, this is the best kind of stories.
When Ian was love coaching Blake. It was awesome to read how his distate for her fastly became into a huge attraction and later love. Totally awesome. But if I have to say one, I have to say when they were in the dressing room. Funny and sexy all the way.
My favorite scene was when they were playing voley and Ian got hurt, and then he told Blake how he got his kneww injure. It was touching and heroic and perfect. Like I said, Ian is my perfect kind of book boyfriend and just like he said it, he is Superman.
I laughed out loud all the time. Ian is so crude I couldnt help but to laugh at all his commnets and of course I laughed at every Blake reaction to Ian's love training. Great couple. Perfect match.
Rachel Van Dyken did an amazing job with this book. Her writing style, character's development and plotting mind are great. I always wanted to read her and I'm sad it took me so long to finally had the time to fit one of her books into my busy schedule, and what a perfect way to start than with this series. I started with the second book, The Matchmaker's Replacement, so I fell first for Lex Luthor and later for Superman. And talking about Lex, I loved the bromance in both books, and this aspect made these 2 books more awesome.
All in all, The Matchmaker's Playbook was a amazing book, full of funny, sexy and romantic moments. Ian Hunter is my new super book boyfriend, along with Blake as my new book girlfriend. 100% Recommended.
I literally laughed out loud so many times and had people wondering what I could possibly be listening to it. Great narration and writing.
Good book...entertaining. Funny at times, decent story line--though it got a little boring at the end.
Really hard book to follow. Not my favorite book from Rachel, but I do like Jeremy York
