The first audio book I did not have the patience to listen to the end. Dialogs are boring and repetitive, story is flat. I like the narrator but the voice and accent she chose for the main male character made him appear weak. At least to me it seemed so.
"Pearl Hewitt ruined the story for me."
the story was fine but was ruined by the stupid fake attempts at a accent. It doesn't even come close to an British accent.
ANYONE!!! For the first time ever I listened to a narrator that made me say I will never buy a book with her name as narrator.
"So simple to listen and great for mutitasking"
Yes, the storyline is great. I love all the main characters for this series. If you enjoy the others story for this series, you will enjoy this audible ebook. For me, this book never got old. I was able to read an ebook and listen to the audible. I was able to listen to it while reading my ebook. Or I could just lay back and just listen to Pearl Hewitt talking. For me, I love the book and storyline. It is something I will probably reread or listen to again. It helps when you are trying to past the time and it suck you back in even though you know how it going to end.
The Clearbrooks series is what I would compare it to, because it ties into the series. And other regency romance books.
I think she did a fabulous job on each character and how they are being portray. She kept In sync with the other audible ebook so for this series.
If I had the time than yes I would listen to all of it in one sitting. Especially on a rainy day.
I would say that if you the love the Clearbrooks audible than this is worth getting. I would recommend this product to my families and friends. Mrs. McCarthy and pearl Hewitt did an excellent job with this book. It is hard to pick a favorite.
"performance was bad"
no the narrator could not do a male voice and the lead male sounded as if he had a speech problem. you would not think any of themales we good looking young men. they sounded offal.
her male characters were bad
"A fun regency romance mystery!"
Sassy, sentimental romance.
I love how the character's have to discover how they really feel about each other, and learn to put their fears behind them and to reach for the future they desire. I also love Gabby and how she brings out the best and the worst in both characters, but she loves them anyway. I love Teresa McCarthy's books! Her characters are memorable and you never what to see the story end!
The narrator, Pearl Hewitt, does a great job using different voices for each character and her accent makes it feel more like I'm there in England with the characters.
Regency romance steeped in mystery and romance.
I received a free copy from author for an honest review.
Interesting, if improbable, story. The narrator did female voices well--the male voices were not done as well. They sounded "lispy" and not quite right.
