From best-selling author Lexy Timms comes a billionaire romance that'll make you swoon and fall in love all over again.
Jamie Connors has given up on finding a man. Despite being smart, pretty, and just slightly overweight, she's a magnet for the kind of guys who don't stay around.
Her sister's wedding is at the foreground of the family's attention. Jamie would be fine with it if her sister wasn't pressuring her to lose weight so she'd fit in the maid of honor dress, her mother would get off her case, and her ex-boyfriend wasn't about to become her brother-in-law.
Determined to step out on her own, she accepts a PA position from billionaire Alex Reid. The job includes an apartment on his property and gets her out of living in her parents' basement.
Jamie has to balance her life and somehow figure out how to manage her billionaire boss without falling in love with him.
The Boss is book one in the Managing the Bosses series. All your questions won't be answered in the first book. It may end on a cliff hanger.
For mature audiences only. There are adult situations, but this is a love story, not erotica.

"Not the whole story"
This book is an erotic romance but it feels like it is not the whole story,
The book was good, but then it just ended in the middle of a scene, so disappointed.
Jamie is extremely passive, rarely does she speak out of turn and normally she always keeps her mouth shut. She is the type that wants to please everyone and is always willing to sacrifice herself to please those around her whether they are deserving of it or not. Family is family and no matter what they say or do to her she will always be loyal. So it is not surprise when her boyfriend leaves her for her sister which is a size 2 compared to her size 12. She takes this in stride, when her ex begins to come on to her almost raping her, she too defends her family.
Alex likes all kinds of women but when he sets his sites on Jamie as a new employee, introduced to him by an old college acquaintance. His world is about to tip on its axes and he is going along for the ride, but it is the tempting personal assistant is getting under his skin and the more time he spends with her the more he wants to protect her. The more he is going to do everything to get her in his bed. As soon as he finally gets her, it ends.
After I listened to this audio book I looked up the other books, there are more in written format but not audio.
This one of those stories that just makes you want to smack the main character's whole family. I am not sure why this grown woman listens to her family to such an extent that they literally try to ruin her life. I felt as though the story accents too much on the main character's weight. I mean I get it already the family wants her to loose weight but ,geez, does it have to be throughout the whole story. Then to have to plan pretty much the whole family who thinks you are nothing but a modern day Cinderella. SMH All I know is I hope her next book ends better than the first. Oh and I forgot to mention, in case you missed the cover, she is working for a very hot boss. At least Prince Charming is something to look forward to in this woman's pathetic life. I am thinking that this book was an introduction so until then I will keep an open mind. I've already bought it so we'll see.
"Loved this story"
Loved this story. Will listen to more from this author. Wish it had more at the end. Left me wanting more.
"Absolutely loved everything about this!"
Jamie is supposed to be helping her little sister with her wedding. It should be a happy time, but her sister is a bitch and she's marrying her ex! Jamie's family thinks she's overweight and treats her as she's obese. Jamie gets a job as Mr. Reed's personal assistant and he seems to always be there when she needs him. She really thinks he's sexy, but knows he won't have anything to do with her since she's supposedly overweight. Will the office rumors of them sleeping together come true? You have to read to find out yourself. Happy reading ♡
"This is insulting!"
The story implies that Jamie is over weight at a size 12. Really? When there are shows on the air like the biggest loser with real people who are over weight with real health problems. I am annoyed with the message this story implies that "overweight" people are hideous and can't find love. This story also uses the sisters wedding as the focal point to drive the story. I mean really who are these people? One daughters wedding over takes the other daughters professional career. Christine the bride to be expects her sister Jamie to delay taking a job until her wedding is planned.
Let's talk about the ex boyfriend/brother -in-law to be, Steven. He describes Jamie, to Alex as unattractive and hideous and overweight. What does that say about his character. He must have seen something in her to date her at one point in his life, unless he is a dirt bag user. I can understand that you date one sister and end up with the other, I can buy that because sometimes people's personalities don't mesh. I just find the premise of this storyline weak.
Let's talk about this narrator she is awful. Monotone and the characters all sound the same. The cliffhanger is not enticing me to complete this series.
Basically the story needed practically mid sentence. Narrator was slow and monotone Their heroine's family is so over the top it's difficult to believe such a smart capable woman would put up with such aggressive hurtfulness from them. There are many descriptions from them as to how terribly fat and homely Jamie is. How can 20lbs turn her into a sex kitten if she is so hideous it was annoying and unrealistic. One scene she was correcting a co worker about being professional and not gossiping about the boss and later she is snooping thru his browser history. It was just inconsistent nonsense like that and made this story irritating
