This was becoming an interesting story as it introduced all the characters backgrounds. However the narration changed after an hour or so and was read like a story aimed at 3 year olds. Subjects such as sex, prison and divorce were read like the characters were on a day out to the zoo. I gave up.
The character development was most interesting.i
Yes, its a good story with some sad and mostly happy times. A story of life
Its quite atmospheric
I suppose I like the memories of going back to her childhood home
Something about home
Very enjoyable story of how life changes change you. But in this case it has a happy ending
Enjoyable holiday book to listen to while relaxing on the beach.
Really interesting story & characters.
I thought the narration was also good
I love Veronica Henry's books but this one isn't one of my favourites.
it's a good book to listen to but I didn't gel with the characters very much.
The story lines for each of the people dipicted were a little too 'perfect'for my taste and I felt it came across twee.
saying that, it was pleasant enough...
I am enjoying the listener page as I find other readers recommendations very helpful and refreshingly honest prior to choosing a new book.
Great narrator and excellent story. This is a fab book for lazing in the sun and relaxing with. I have also read The Beach Hut by the same author which I thoroughly enjoyed.
It comprises of stories of the characters in a seaside resort who all own beach huts but the stories intertwine.
Well worth reading and I'm going to try some more by this author.
This is a lovely story of families living through good and bad times beautifully written and portrayed. I couldn't stop listening until the end.
Just in my sixties and have recently moved to a cottage in the country. I was an avid book reader until a few years ago,.
A good story or stories, but changed from one to another and in places became confusing and disjointed
You can escape a busy stressful life with Veronica Henry's seaside stories.
Vince. He was a rock solid character who when he realised that everybody else was sorted went out to get himself a life.
Yes. I listen to them on my way to work and consider just driving past.
There'e just enough characters in her books to stretch your memory trying to remember each persons story.
