A memorable ensemble cast of four young women who share a beautiful loft apartment in New York City's Hell's Kitchen and experience the glamour and challenges of city life, love, and career in this irresistible contemporary story.
Four young women's lives intersect in the apartment they've shared in Hell's Kitchen: Claire, a shoe designer; Abby, an aspiring novelist; Morgan, a successful financial consultant; and Sasha, a resident in obstetrics. As different as they are from one another, the women had become a family by choice. But while their lives had proceeded smoothly in the years they'd lived together, new relationships, job opportunities, and surprising circumstances will test the strength of their bond in and outside the loft that had become their home.

Danielle Steel is prolific. She has six books out this year and this one is one of the best I have read in the last few years.
She is at her feel good best here with a familiar theme of four very different young women getting together to rent 'The Apartment' - a huge loft space in New York. The listener gets to know about their lives, jobs, families, boyfriends and the usual ups and downs occur. This book is beautifully crafted and kept me interested and entertained. If you like Danielle Steel you'll love this one, and the narrator was excellent. It took me away from my life for a weekend and I was bereft when it came to an end. Thanks Danielle. I look forward to the next one.
The plot needs to speed up and have more about it. It is slow, predictable and boring in several places as the same thing is said quite a few times.
It is significantly more dull and doesn't have any real spark to it that engages with the reader because it is easy to guess what is going to happen.
Explored two of the relationships but with more depth, intrigue and substance to each character.
NO! It would be so boring just catching up with the lives of the four females and their lives were not really exciting anyway.
Personally I felt it was a waste of a credit and had i paid full price I would have wondered what for!
I really enjoyed this book. it was hard to stop listening too. I highly recommend it. I can't wait for her next book!
"Another Must Read from Danielle Steel"
I haven't read the print edition, but the audio edition could have been better.
I think it was when Abby brings home a dog she adopted from a shelter on a whim. Her roommates aren't impressed but gradually open up to the dog and miss the dog when Abby leaves New York, taking the pooch with her.
That would depend on the book. His portrayal of female characters in this book seemed forced, and the book should have been narrated by a woman since the main characters are female.
There were several parts of the book that made me laugh.
"Good read about friendships"
Enjoyable & Entertaining from Coast to Coast, Chicago, Paris & Milan. Woman making their way on their own
This book is laughably lame. Written at a 5th grade reading level with a male narrator reading in a falsetto character voice. Awful.
"Not Steel's Best"
Having a male read the story of four female roommates did nothing for the story.
"boring then it got interesting"
too slow in the beginning. what happened with George?? so far I love the Ghost
This book was great. I love anything Danielle Steel writes. Fantastic Characters and great story line.
I never wanted to live in a big city, but living in the apartment would have been great!
"Classic Danielle Steel"
this is classic Danielle Steel great storytelling engaging characters facing life's ups and downs and finding a road to happiness the narration was great I really enjoyed this book I listen to it in 2 days
A typical book for the author. For Danielle Stella readers this is a must read
