Playboy Mason Thorne is nothing short of complicated. Though he was a movie star at a young age, his life took a downward spiral when he turned to drugs after losing his mother. He cleaned up his act and became a senator but still keeps his distance from most everyone - including his own father. There are plenty of women around, but most are gone by morning.
Twenty-five-year-old Chelle Landon thinks she must be the last virgin in Texas. She's worried if she doesn't remedy it soon, she'll stay one forever. She attends yet another small-town wedding where the last single man her age is officially off the market - until sexy politician Mason Thorne appears. He's the answer to her prayers, if one can pray for something that decadent.
He needs a cover story, not another lover. Chelle's on a mission to lose her virginity no matter what. Will he break her heart, or will she heal his?

"life changing love story."
Country girl falls for player senator...Mason and Chelle were a great couple. I love the fact that he wanted to stay engaged. Great cast of characthers...nice read if you like happy romance.
Wow! I really enjoyed this book. The characters are great, especially Chelle. It took me some time to warm up to Mason because he is such a playboy in the true sense of the word, but part of me found him intriguing from the start. By the end of the book, I loved him, and I was so glad to see this couple get their HEA.
I listened to the audio, and the narrator did an excellent job with the different characters giving them their own distinct voice. She reads with a great deal of emotion without going too far. I'll definitely look for other books performed by her.
If you like an emotionally-charged read where the hero is greatly flawed, then you will enjoy Taken Home as much as I did. Happy reading!
I don't remember the last time I disliked the characters in a book so much! Mason was the worst. Selfish, arrogant, conceited, womanizer and shows a total lack of respect for Chelle the heroine.
Chelle is a desperate, doormat who lets the jerk use her and treat her like garbage.
The story is so predictable and unimaginative. It's the same story that we see in about a thousand other romance novels. (Except with horrible characters). Not a shred of originality in here!
Natalie Ross in my opinion did a good job, like she always does.
"He just needed to find out what Real Love was"
How no matter what Chelle did not give up on Mason and belived in him
When Mason and Chelle visit the special store in Galvenston. That was quite funny. I would never think of diamonds for those items
Chelle was my favorite as she was a sweetheart but has a huge TX backbone
When Mason realized he needed to go back to meet his brothers and why Chelle's father had pushed him to contact his own father
This is one of my favorite series by Ruth Cardello and this was so worth a credit. Although this is book 3 you could read/listen and not be lost without reading the other two. Do yourself a favor though and read the whole series you won't regret it. They are awesome books and have everything you need. Love, laughter and just enough drama to get you fussing at your phone while you are listening to said book.
I was pleasantly surprised by this. I loved it and would recommend, but like some of the other audiobooks, I yearned for a male voice.
I'm new to audio books but this narration was better than the first two in the series. I still struggle with some of the accents. But enjoyed it. Mason is a stubborn guy and h is thinking is definitely a challenge, but he is so also brave. Long book but good.
"Horrible horrible narrator...bad"
The performance was just horrendous. I couldn't deal with her voice. Slow and boring!!!
"What a senator!!"
He was very damaged... She was innocent (almost stupid at times).
Their story started in a wedding and had its funny moments.
He was less engaged with the town people and the story was not so well developed.
The narrator was not good. She was not able to make the correct accents and it made it weaker by the lack Spirit.
It was entertaining and nice enough...
"Storyline was Great"
The "f" word was totally uncalled for. remove n you have a 5 all the way around. Tasteless, unnecessary n reduced a wonderful story of love, family, forgiveness n trust to trash.!!!
