"Horrible narration. Couldn't finish the audiobook."
The narrator sounds bored and was reading so fast that she sounds as if it is a chore she just wants to be done with as quick as possible. Couldn't finish the audiobook.
"Are we running a race?"
This was great story, but unfortunately the narrator was really distracting. I swear she didn't breathe! She read so quickly that in the beginning I checked my audible settings to make sure I didn't have it set to read at a faster rate. At times I couldn't tell which character was speaking because everything was so jumbled by the speed.
I think this book would benefit from a new narrator.
This is the first [author:Evan Grace|7788444] book I've read and it was excellent! I loved the characters and the interplay between them. They were all well-rounded and consistent over the course of the book. Bellamy's relationship with her twin brothers was great, if not amusing. The romance between Bellamy and Luke is really sweet. Luke spends the majority of the book trying to do "the right thing" (in other words, not getting involved with Bellamy because she is his best friends' little sister). If his conscience isn't enough to have him trying to be completely hands off, the threat of being beaten up by the brothers and possibly facing repercussions within their friendship just makes him that more determined. I really enjoyed the edge and bit of danger Grace brought to the book with Bellamy's attack and the subsequent happenings. Overall, this was a great book and one I'd recommend to any romance lover. (HEA; no cliffhanger.)
"Very good book"
Love this story. Makes you smile and cry. You will be on the edge of your chair waiting to see what happens.
"Wonderful book the author had me from the start"
The audio isn't by far the best but it is no where near the worse I have listen to.
I totally loved this story, the author had me from the beginning and kept me hooked all the way through.
I thought Nikki did well on the characters and gave them wonderful emotions. However when in her normal voice she was a little fast with little or no emotions. At the end she was much better. I feel Nikki needs to slow down with the normal reading and give those times a little more emotions so it just doesn't sound like she is reading. I had no problem at all with her character voices and felt she did a great job with them.
The author touched on some very serious issue that are very tough for that age. My heart broke more then once for Bellamy and Luck. Yes I did chuckle a few times and I felt their pain at one point I thought if they have to go through much more of this the author would bring a tear to my eyes.
I felt this was an outstanding book, the author had me hooked from the start and kept me hooked through out the story. I had trouble putting putting it down, I needed to know how it ended. In fact I enjoyed this audio so much that I have bought the rest of the series and if the other two are as good as this one I have found another new favorite author.
Evan Grace knows how to tell a story that is easy to follow. She puts twists and turns that you do not see coming. Her words flow easy, she gives you all the information you need to know without adding a lot of information you to not need.
As for the narrator I hope she grows, she has a wonderful tone and a lovely voice. I have found this to be the case in a lot of audio's I have listened to. She just needs a little more heart and emotion in her normal read or the normal parts of the book. I did have trouble getting use to her style of reading but she does get better as the book goes along. She isn't so bad that I wouldn't listen to her again. I hope she reads this and learns what the listeners want to hear. I feel if she just slows down and put a little more emotion in her reading she will go far and become a wonderful narrator.
As for the book and audio I enjoyed the author so much I have bought her other 2 books in this series. I enjoyed the narrator enough that I also bought the audio's in hoping the narrator has grown and learn with each book she reads. I am going to give the narrator a 3.5 with rounding it up to a 4. The book is a 5 star all the way. Thank you so much for giving me a wonderful read. I pick this book as one of my favorite reads of the week.
"Great story, horrible narration"
Evan Grace definitely
Nikki Diamond definitely not
She sped through reading the story and did not show any of the emotion the author tried to show. If she had slowed down and put some heart into what she was reading, this could easily have been a 5-star book
