Summary

Love can appear unexpectedly: a chance meeting at a friend's wedding, the arrival of a handsome new co-worker...or while being robbed at a convenience store.

For some, love seems an impossible dream. Growing up gay in small-town Missouri, Jace Holden thought his chance would never come. When he meets Victor - a wild soul and fellow outsider - his chances of finding love go from bleak to a very uncertain, maybe. Bracing his heart, Jace chases after his desire, hoping for a warm hand to hold his tight.

Something Like Autumn tells the story of Jace's life before the events of Something Like Summer, while also revisiting his time with Benjamin Bentley.

The Seasons Series: Book 1: Something like Summer, Book 2: Something like Winter, Book 3: Something like Autumn, Book 4: Something like Spring.

excellent

the third in the series so we know most of the story. In this one we know whhat the end is but we learn a lot about Jase, his past and his reasons for being how he is.. and of course where Samson fits in. as for Benjamin we know what happens to Jase in bens story. then 'what happens after' in Tims story. but we see how very brave he is to do as Jase asks on the end.. this is a very emotional story, Victor being a very sad part when you think of it all and well explained during a visit to military school..
I have already purchased the next book 'spring' but am waiting a little bit before starting to let my thoughts and emotions settle down a bit

Feels like full circle

What about Kevin R. Free’s performance did you like?
He tells the story well. However, some of the voices he uses for the characters do not seem to fit. For example, he reads Tim like a simpleton dimwit and you know when a character is a nasty piece of work because their voices are uber camp and waspish.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. Clear your diary, you wont want to miss a moment of this story.

Any additional comments?
This story is much more than just another look at the events from "Something Like Summer". In fact they are just covered in the final third part of this book.

In this story we meet a young Jace about to make a life changing decision and then watch him grow up to be the man that we (and Ben) fall in love with.

However, for me the best thing about this story is that we see the real Jace and not the perfect person who everyone who meets him seems to think he is. He is flawed and he has doubts and he is human.

Team Tim or Team Jace? I couldn't choose.

All I know is that you need a box of tissues handy as by the end your eyes will not be dry

A great addition to the series and world of something like series

I loved this story, and even though I knew the ending it still got me on an emotional level.
I love how the stories intermingle it really is a great aspect.
I read this story third (I think it’s the second in the series); to be honest I read something like summer, then something like winter ( I wanted to know the tim /Ben what next), this book was still good in this order and for me much nicer and comforting to know the what next.
I plan to continue onto the next story soon! I would definitely recommend this Lgbt story.

Honestly I hate you.

( SPOILERS ) I don't normally write reviews, but in this case I have to. You destroyed me for 2/3 hours of today. A simple word. Shotgun. The fact you brought it back, the fact you foreshadowed all the way in the beginning. The fact it was Bernards. Honestly why couldn't you have written a book where Victor and Jason lived happily ever after. Fuck Ben and his naive emotions, especially fuck Tim a closet case expecting everyone else to look after his mental well being, even more than Victor. A brilliant book but evil... I'm glad I lived through it but for weeks maybe months, every time I see my boyfriend I'm just going to think of Victor.

heartbreaking

I knew what would happen in this book and it's taken me 7 years to get to it, I've read nearly every other book in the series but this one was going to be hard.
It was beautiful. It was heartbreaking. It was perfect.

I'd recommend it to read just after the Summer par

I read the book and listen to it. It's amazing. I wasn't happy with Jace turning up in Ben's life, but in this book, I fell in love with him as with Ben and Tim from Summer part in this book. And Victor - reading it, I wondered how many people would go through this as Jace went. Adrien - someone who was in love with Jace - like the part when they meet again after years. And Michelle - I like her, really and Greg, who is a true friend. And of course, Jace, Ben and Tim's triangle appear - now we see Jace's version of it.
Definitely, you'll cry reading it and be laughing and will feel the desire to get to know what will happen next.

Something like jase

By the time I was starting the 3rd book I though I knew the whole story but was I wrong. Even though we know how Jase’s story ends from the events of something like summer, it feels like you actually go though it when reading Jases take on the events...Keep a box of tissues on hand as you get to the end it’s rather emotional.

Heart warming

Really emotional this one. I felt like victor was a really person and I felt so sad for him and jase. Reminded me of someone I know so tugged on the heart strings for sure.
