April Frost is a compassionate young woman with a steady job and ambitious goals. But the harder she runs away from her past, the more it threatens to destroy her. When three strangers enter her life, April is forced to face her demons, and it's a battle she may not win. Private investigators in the Breed world are men who take risks, and Reno Cole is no exception. As a Shifter, he's expected to control his inner animal. But lately his wolf has been venturing dangerously close to the city, and he's about to discover why. When Reno is reintroduced to a family friend, the attraction is immediate. April captivates him with her secretive eyes and resilient spirit. She's also in trouble, and despite the fact that she's a human, Reno can't turn his back on her. April is caught between two worlds: One that threatens to bury her dreams and another that could fulfill them. Can she trust the wolf at her door and find the courage to overcome her demons?

"A fractured and reluctant heroine, plus a reticent alpha hero equals an awesome story of choice, retribution and love. Six Months has it all!" (Tamara Rose Blodgett, author of Blood Reign)
I enjoyed the story. April did get a little annoying at times. She had been dealt a hard blow in life and deals well with it. The storyline was engaging and it was nice to keep up with other characters in the pack. They are all developing as the stories progress and become a little more three dimensional with each encounter. I love Trevor and felt he could have had an even bigger role.
On rare occasions when a the first book in a series is really great, the second book in that series is too!
This is that rare occasion, enjoy
The narrator was awesome, truly wonderful. 😁
I love this story about Reno and April .. it shows that some can be loved without judgement of their past. ...
spoiler .. love how April was not a afraid for Reno wolf but she freak out when a make man was lying on in her bed. also when she put in a difficult situation bedtime judged her apart from Reno who want to know the full story.
Brilliant voices, very different from each other.
Full range of emotions.
April and Reno are like magnets; they are pulled together by desire, and April pushes them apart continually. Reno is a strong man, brimming with hidden, complex emotions, while April is a strong woman, desperately trying to hide in a weak woman’s guise. I didn’t like April; I found her irritating and thoughtless to those around her, getting herself into trouble and taking the least rational option available. My dislike for the character did not take anything away from the story. I rooted for Reno to get the girl, I sat on the edge of my seat when Sanchez was in play; I even felt sorry for Madox who seemed like quite a decent guy. I love the series and really enjoyed seeing them all in play. I recommend the audio version because the narrator has a vast range of voices.
"Worth the credit"
First let me say I have never written a review even after hundreds of books - this series deserves it! It reminds me of the BDB series ....really great!
This particular book is outstanding...better than the first. I can't wait to get to the next one. The only issue I had was that April ...well I just wanted to shake her!! Her voice is annoying after hours of listening; she was not a main character in the first book so I didn't notice that much but the book is worth the irritation and definitely worth a credit!
"Overall ~ A Great Story!!"
I really love the "shifter" world Dannika Dark has created, and how the characters are more down to earth. They are not all sexy, multimillionaires with lots of toys but more like the average person with issues you can relate to like needing home and car repairs, or personal issues like breaking up with someone or being betrayed.
This story is mainly about April struggling with these types of issues while her relationship with Reno grows. However, her situation goes from bad to worse when loan sharks start coming after her and threatening her over her late grandmother's debt. April ends up making some hard decisions on how to deal with these dangerous loan sharks.
This story has a strong presence of the other Weston Pack members and we get to see more of their personalities which I love.
The thing I liked least about this story was the narration. It's had for me to say anything negative about a narrator because I know it is hard work to be the voice for so many different characters; however, I had to start and stop this story several times because of April's voice; it sounded so depressing.
Overall, I really did enjoy the story and it is worth a credit.
"6 Months of ups and downs"
I enjoyed catching up with the characters from the first book and watching their progress. Denver was my favorite character in book 1 and 2. I loved his playfulness, but yet protectiveness over Macy. He could always detect when something was off with her and he loved her like the brother she never had.
Reno was in-love with April but he could not get her to let him in. She fell in love with his Wolfe but could not love him and it was not because of who he was, but it was because of all the people she owed money, thanks to her grandma and her non-existent mother. Reno had his eye set on her since the first time he saw her but she kept pushing him away every time he got too close or did something nice for her.
This book was all about April and all the trouble she was in. What upset me about her character was how she couldn't trust anyone with anything, not her gay best friend, her sister, or even her boyfriend. She was jilted from her past experiences and could not let go of the fact that not everyone was the same. She even stole from her friend/boss because she couldn't ask for help. She got more people in trouble in the end because she could not confide in anyone to help her.
This one was not as great for me as the first one (seven years) was but it was still a good read. I don't know if it was the voice of April or the romance wasn't as strong as the first one was. The voice rubbed me the wrong way. It sounded like an 12 year old girl. Even the little kid's voice was more mature than the female lead.
"Not my favorite"
The continuation of the storyline.
I liked Reno, he had baggage but when he found the person he wanted, he left his past behind and went forward toward his future.
Her voices for the characters are similar but as she reads the story you do know who's who.
Even though this wasn't my favorite, I think we had to find out what was going on with April and Reno. I have no problem saying the Seven series is worth your credits.
good story, you have to get past the narrative using a little girl voice, and the main character being not so smart, but the other characters male up for it.
"I tried, I really wanted to like it"
I enjoyed the first book in this series and thought Great! a new PNR to follow, but this, the second book was totally brought down by the weak main character. Could she have been portrayed more limp? The narration was annoying, but I think that was again more of the story having the problem than the narrator. I couldn't finish the listen.
"Another 5 star book!"
Sexy, Suspenseful, Caring
Seven Years and Mageri Series
Nicole brings the book to life. She creates the voice for each member and makes them feel so real.
Absolutely. Reno and April are so great together. I love how all of Dannika's characters are strong. You wont read about a main character, or even supporting character, crying over trivial stuff. They are all strong and yet so different. Amazing cast. Amazing Story.
"Great world, leading lady was TSTL"
This world of Shifters, or Breed, is great. Lots of dynamics that make it an extremely inviting world....BUT....the leading lady in this story was just TSTL (Too stupid to live).
This is the book of April, she works with Lexi in the candy store, and Reno, the oldest brother. Reno was great! Strong, Alpha man who protects women...but dang April was damsel in distress, and then more distress, and further distress, and just idiotic distress. The type of character that says oh, well it's been three years since my grandmother died but if you say she owed you 50K well golly gee I guess she did. Or how about meeting a loan shark enforcer, that has already given you the creeps once, alone in an abandoned warehouse complete with graffiti? Seriously, that is exactly how the loan shark described it...like I said TSTL.
April was whiny, and frankly I don't know what Reno saw in her, but I did like the new dimensions to this shifter world. Who knew a shifter could be "in the closet" about being a shifter?!?!?
Anyway, I would say this book is good for a sale but not a credit. I loved book one so I am willing to give book 3 a shot but if it's more of the same TSTL style I'm going to give up after that. Narration was great with the male voices and most of the women's voices....her choice to always make April sound like she was near hyperventilation may have contributed to my dislike of the character.
So far I love everything about the series!! Dannika Dark is truly an amazing writer!!
Ms. Dark is on a roll! Six Months is a wonderful story that is the perfect continuation from Seven Years. Reno Cole is a hard man who has given up on love until he meets April Frost. April Frost is Lexi Cole's friend and coworker who is in more trouble than she can handle. She valiantly tries to handle it on her own but finally realizes she needs the love and support of a strong man. Even though humans don't live as long as shifters, Reno realizes that no matter how long April has on this earth his life will be empty without her beside him.
And then there's Trevor! Trevor is Aprils best friend and the life of the party. I sincerely hope this amazing character continues in the rest of the stories. Trevor is definitely my boy!
