First in the new Silver Valley series from the New York Times best-selling author of the Reapers Motorcycle Club Novels
Fourteen months. For 14 months, Puck Redhouse sat in a cell and kept his mouth shut, protecting the Silver Bastards MC from their enemies. Then he was free, and it was time for his reward - full membership in the club along with a party to celebrate. That was when he saw Becca Jones for the first time and set everything in motion. Before the night ended, he'd violated his parole and stolen her away from everything she knew.
Five years. It was five years ago that Puck destroyed Becca and saved her all in one night. She's been terrified of him ever since, but she's even more terrified of the monsters from which he still protects her. But Becca refuses to let fear control her. She's living her life and moving forward - until she gets a phone call from the past she can't ignore. She has to go back, and there's only one man she can trust to go with her - the ex-con biker who rescued her once before.
Puck will help her again, but this time it'll be on his terms. No more lies, no more tears, and no more holding back what he really wants....

Another thoroughly entertaining Motorcycle Club yarn. Links into characters who have had their own stories in previous books but only in passing so nothing lost if you haven't read these books . Men are sexy leather clad , Harley riding, alpha types . No cliff hangers so you don't have to go,looking for the next book ( although you may want to ) ! . I would totally recommend these books also any by Nicole Snow but not sure they are available on Audible ( yet?). These stories well worth the credit.
I fell a little in love with Puck ! So much easier to do as Johnathan McClain voice is just how I would imagine this to be . American , a little rough with a great sense of timing that makes the conversations between Puck and Becca so lively and just so entertaining .
Allysons voice is good . No problems with it at all but as I mentioned it's Johnathans voice that did it for me. Went to Audible site to see if johnathan had read anymore MC books but alas none listed ( at least not on the Audible UK site) .Just to add here I have read a few of Joanna Wyldes books and I also enjoyed them. I enjoyed the audio version because the actors didn't let me down . They sounded JUST as I thought they should sound .
No laughter or tears but huge enjoyment
I would gladly give audible more of my hard earned money if they had more Johnathan McClain reading Joanna Wylde MC books. ..certainly more MC books in general . Anyone who enjoys Gina Showalter or Kresley Cole may enjoy these books .
Joanne Wylde does it again, another awesome MC book. Love that the Reapers are there too.
Puck (Silver Bastard MC) and Painter (Reapers MC) are released from prison and just want to get laid and drink. Time in jail was not easy for them but they got through it.
Becca Jones step father was a friend to the Longneck MC and a evil man. He didn't care about his stepdaughter. Just what she could do for him. Her mother wasn't much better to her Becca's .
One night Becca's life just got worse and he mother saved her by sending her away with the Silver Bastards and the Reapers. That was five years ago and you would hope Becca's life got better.
Read the book to see if Becca's life got better or worse.
I would recommend Joanna Wylde MC Books
"GREAT SPIN-OFF FROM HER REAPERS MC SERIES"
If you're looking for a hard-hitting raw MC listen then this is it.... but with "you're mine" romance too that turned out to be quite sweet underneath the whole bad-ass exterior. Great start to her new series of Biker Bastards.
Becca wasn't in a good place when Puck found her and rescued her but it took 5 years before they finally talked properly to each other again and then their sexual chemistry took over but Becca was an independent woman who didn't want to be an old lady because it brought back too many dark memories of her past life. And that past life was coming back to haunt her life now with blackmail, betrayal and ultimatums and Becca could only rely on herself to get out of this mess..... which proved to be a very bad idea.
Rival biker gangs, clubhouse business, old ladies, death threats, a murder or two, twists, raw no holes barred frenzied sex scenes, biker talk, heated passionate scenes and a romance - biker style. Told from dual POV's, good narration and HEA Epilogue.
Worth a credit? I loved it, was caught up in every delicious scene and yes, IMO creditworthy (as long as you know what you're getting - slutty alpha males, angst, abuse, strong heroine, action, suspense, steamy sex and a very unconventional romance).
"Good but not the best"
There is something about JW's book that is an auto download for me. I mean I will even put up with crappy narration because her books are just that great.
This is the story of Puck and his property Bex. If you have been following the Reapers Series that you have some idea of who he is. In my opinion this book was just good enough... not awful though I have one particular scene that was truly a turn off in this book but that minor disruption did not take away from the book overall.
The story begins with the celebration of Puck & Painter's release from prison. It is during this event that Puck meets and falls for Becca. After a night to remember - both please & heartbreaking pain - well things go from worse to s*t by the time morning rolls around.
Flash forward 5 years with these 2 dancing around each other because Puck feels like crap for what he did to and what happened to Becca as well as Becca's fear (well justified fear) of Puck and MCs in general JW finally kicks in the romance we know and love!
I don't think I could ever think that a borderline asshole of a guy and a borderline mental girl could ever make things work but I now know better! Thanks to JW.... Unlike her other series this was a tame version of her usual style. Still enjoyable and great glimpses at other characters that may have their books. The bonus was AFTER the epilogue... Now that is a book I would love to read if JW decides to write one...
The narration was not the greatest but still okay enough to make it to the end.
Definitely worth a credit..and definately to no pass it!
"not as satisfying as the Reaper series"
It was a very good story and I even liked the plot but it just did not draw me in as the Reaper series did. This book was a bit predictable. Still a good listen
"Good Biker Story"
I'm not even sure what to say about this book. Overall, it was relatively good---gritty and raw, like most MC stories. Was it my favorite Joanna Wylde book---No. I've enjoyed Wylde's other books much, much more. I was really into the beginning; things were interesting and dramatic pretty immediately, but then it floundered somewhat. I wasn't a fan of the female narrator; her over-dramatized narration was a bit much. And there were several moments where I wanted to scream at Becca for being just a hair too naïve for my tastes. The sex was hot for sure; Puck was totally that bad boy you just melted for because he's got that one sensitive spot for his woman. And this isn't a spoiler but, Becca's mom and her hubby get the A-hole award of the year, hands down.
I wanted this to be a 4-or 5-star, but, it just missed the mark for me somewhat. I'm still a fan of Joanna Wylde, and look forward to what's coming next.
"I love Joanna Wylde stories!!"
HARDCORE BIKER STORY!
The Reapers, it's a kick-off from their story.
They were good together. They got into the characters.
"Love this book!"
Joanna Wylde has my FULL attention! After the Reaper MC books, she has continued the story from a new angle! And let me just say it is hot hot hot!!!
Yes. Characters were narrated perfectly.
Narration and the progress of the characters. Plus it was super sexy.
Every time I read a Joanna Wylde book, I always kick myself for not reading it sooner. And Silver Bastard is no different. This may be my favorite one yet. I listened to the audible version which was dual narrated perfectly. I think it added to the perfection of the story. This was a bit darker and grittier than some of her other books but I loved that about it. I loved Puck and Becca's first meet and subsequent on again off again relationship. Puck was all alpha all the time and Becca grew into a strong heroine even in her weak moments. I also loved getting to see Painter again as I also loved his story. Every time I finish one of her MC books, I want to go to the next one so I'm excited there's another one being published soon.
"Don't waste a credit"
The two protagonist were terrible! Her logic was skewed and though she overcame a lot of crap she still came off weak and immature. Puck was mostly an asshole. I hated this book Wylde has written better stories.
"I didn't want it to end"
As i come to the end of the reapers series I am sad. This was actually one of my favorites. Some people said the narrators were bad but I did agree. I thought they were good.
This is a must read!
I really loved listening to this duel point of view of Puck and Becca. I love not hearing a woman trying to read in a man's voice or a man reading in a woman's voice except for a few lines here and there when it's in the man or woman's pov. Great job Allyson and Johnathan with the reading of your parts.
