When Rainie rushes an injured dog to a clinic, she's appalled to recognize the veterinarian, Jake Sheffield. So not fair. His memory has haunted her for over a decade. And then he showed up at her Shadowlands BDSM club. And now he owns the veterinary clinic? The gods of cruelty must be laughing at her.
Master Jake is sophisticated, wealthy, and gorgeous. Rainie's a fluffy ex-slum rat. He'd never be with a woman like her. Besides, she's been burned enough times that she won't get serious about any man. Sure, the BDSM club trainees are supposed to be seeking permanent Doms, but no harm, no foul - the Masters don't need to know the truth.
As a Shadowlands Master, Jake watches out for all the trainees. But one is special. Lush body, a gift for living life to the fullest, always laughing or smiling. Now he's learned she also has a big heart. Although Rainie trips all his switches, she's avoided him since the moment she arrived...and he let her have that play. But when she lies to him about her goals, he knows the time has come for a Master to take an active part in her training.

"Such a sweet story"
I am so happy I found this author her writing is on point and steamy. I am quickly adding all her book to my library and hope to see that her books and her other series gets add.
So if you like really steamy and want a good plot down load all her books, they really that good. Happy Listening, because I will...
"Absolutely love these books!!! "
Can't believe it but each book gets better than the last. Gotta love the Doms of the Shadowlands!!! Wish that I could find one of my own... sigh
This maybe a story about an M/s relationship but it was still very heart warming and sexy at the same time. I loved both the bachelorette party and the wedding in this book. It's good watching the interaction of previously featured characters. This series is good and I really hope that all the books will become audiobooks in time. Just impatient with them not already there.
I enjoyed this book. I have already read many of her books and have enjoyed each one.
this book is the best of the books and the narrative was amazing two but I'm not keen on hearing a man use a woman's voice it just doesn't work
"show me, baby"
not my favorite. the narrator could of been better. I liked the story of Sally and the Feds. That had 5 stars!
"I wish there was just a little more"
I have liked most of the novels, in this series. However, the tale always seems to end too soon. I wish there was a longer glimpse into the lives, after the relationship is bonded. It would add so much to the characters, of this series. I admit, as far as I'm concerned, the longer the novel, the better. It would add so much to the story if the reader could see more of the results of the positive impact of a balenced relationship. Maybe we all could learn a little something that we could apply to our own lives. Alas, I guess I'm a romantic at heart.
The story was entertaining, however, and worth a credit.

What a good story. Loved the characters and story development. Great narrator ! Have listened more than once!
I have always loved Rainie's story, so I was glad when it came out on Audible.
Rainie is a loveable, sparkly, bright woman and Master Jake is just the man to open up her childhood and free her from the demons of the past. The characters are well written and interesting. They are people you would like to know.
Noah Michael Levine does an excellent acting the voices of the characters. As always Cherise Sinclair is a wonderful story teller and her books are hot. Well worth the credit to listen.
"Love the Shadowlands"
This is another great work from Cherise Sinclair. The characters are well defined. The emotion feels real and the BDSM is well done. Noah Michael Levine's voicing makes you want to be part of the story. Please continue to write Cherise.
