Publisher's Summary

We skipped right over the whole fiancée thing and went straight from girlfriend to wife. At least, I think that's what happened. I woke up after my brother's Vegas wedding reception with my luscious girlfriend in bed with me. We're both wearing wedding rings.

So is her coworker, Josh.

And our Vegas chauffeur, Geordi.

Who the hell am I married to?

Unraveling this mystery will be as difficult as figuring out why Amanda and I are having panic attacks over the thought of being husband and wife.

It's true that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, with one exception:

If she's my wife, we'll make it work.

If she's not? I'll make it happen.

Get the ninth book in Julia Kent's New York Times best-selling romantic comedy series as Andrew and Amanda sort out their wild Vegas night...and the rest of their lives.

    "Love love love Sebastian's voice"

This is a brilliant book which I have read a few times before and shouted. Sebastian York's voice took it to a whole other level. I would happily listen to the dictionary read by him!

    "Fun Quirky Romance"

This full-length, standalone audiobook with no cliffhanger was full of humor and heart. Although it is obvious that the past events mentioned were in previous installments of this series, there is not the necessity to have listened to the previous ones. (Though, they are all great, and I recommend them.) Sebastian York brought all the characters to life and did an excellent job making an already entertaining read, a fabulous listen. Totally worth a credit or cash.

"I'm in love with Andrew McCormick"
Where does Shopping for a CEO's Fiancee rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is one of my favorite audiobooks from Julia Kent's Shopping series. Sebastian York *is* Andrew McCormick! His narration matched the voices in my head, down to the last character's inflection and tone of voice. This book continues in the same vein as the previous books, blending quirky humor and outrageously funny scenes with emotionally charged moments that make you fall in love with "being in love" every single time. Kent and York get my vote for best rom/com author/narrator duo!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Shopping for a CEO's Fiancee?

Park the car and finish your beverage before listening to the scene where Professor Victoria Kensley-Wentingham from Boston University fits Andrew for a historically accurate Jane Austen-ish costume to court Amanda. Between York's impersonation of the professor and Kent's depiction of Andrew trying on Regency-era trousers (especially Vince's entrance and the "tweezers" reference), you will laugh out loud until you cry.

Which character – as performed by Sebastian York – was your favorite?

I loved York's interpretation of Andrew McCormick because he brought emotional depth, humility and sensitivity to a classic Type A alpha male. It could be easy to dislike Andrew for his arrogance and superior attitude, but York shatters the stereotype with his nuanced narration, thanks in large part to Kent's well-written characterization.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

In many romance novels, it is the heroine who is depicted as emotionally vulnerable. I loved that Andrew is the one risking it all for love in this book. While this book and this series are first and foremost romantic comedy, Kent always gives readers an emotional wallop that leaves them dazzled.

    Any additional comments?

This book is best enjoyed as part of the series so that readers understand the history of the characters and the progression of the interpersonal relationships. A "must enjoy" audiobook recommendation!

"ANDREW DOES'N'T KNOW HOW TO 'COURT'"

In Shopping for a CEO Andrew and Amanda start dating. This book starts the day after Declan and Shannon's wedding which is Shopping for a billionaires wife. This is Andrew and Amanda's courtship. It's very funny you'll enjoy it.

I love Sebastian York's delivery of humor...he's the best.

Julie I wish you would put your novella's into a box set. You could do duet box sets. I need at least a 7 hour book for a credit. Anyway I'm enjoying the books I've purchased.

    Absolutely worth a credit/$$ if it's 7+ hours.

    "CEO Fiancé Review"

Story was really bizarre in first half, almost shut it down. Too many weird things at once, hard to follow. But plot leveled and ended up pretty good. Narration nailed both genders.

What would have made Shopping for a CEO's Fiancee better?

I was still confused about whom was married to whom even by chapter 3.

Would you ever listen to anything by Julia Kent again?

If I know it's not sexually explicit. I chose this book from the audio bookboom feed wall. No warnings are posted in those posts as is in the weekly newsletter.

What about Sebastian York’s performance did you like?

I like his tone of voice and it keeps me from tuning out the story.

    "Laugh out loud"

Story from the beginning cracked me up! Full of humor and yes sex was in it too. It just was a super cute fast pace story that while never in a million year would I believe millionaire don't know how to pump gas. Or have such crazy lives it was funny. I would definitely recommend this book. In fact I already called my daughter and told her about it. I received this book free of charge in exchange for an honest review. 👍🏻

"This Series of books is so entertaining"

I received this audiobook free for an honest review. I love listening to these books. The author is so entertaining. She has quick wit and a great sense of humor. The other books by Julia Kent have been narrated by a woman. This one was by a man. He does a great job. Wasn't sure I would like it, but he does each character wonderfully. Each book seems to be a standalone, except that each of the characters are mentioned in her other books. She does give a bit of background throughout that is helpful, since it was been a while since I listed to the last book. Julia Kent's books are so entertaining. She is a delightful author.

"You can't go wrong with this one"

This audiobook pleasantly surprised me. I liked this a lot more than I expected. I thought that it would be a fun love story, and it was, but there was also so much more. I was literally smiling the whole time that I was listening to it, and I’m pretty some people looked at me weirdly while I was grinning like crazy. I couldn’t believe some of the troubles the characters got themselves into, and it was completely hilarious. The romantic part of the story made me swoon, and I just really enjoyed listening to the characters’ antics. It won’t be anything like what you would normally expect! Sebastian York did a great job with the narration as usual. If you’re looking for a romantic comedy that will entertain you from beginning to end, you won’t go wrong with this one!

"Not a stand alone book :-("
    Any additional comments?

Story: I am sad to say, This book is not a stand-alone book!

Clearly there was a lot of background story to the entire cast of characters, which could have made the book more enjoyable IF I had listened to them. But I hadn't, so I felt like I was listening to part three of a story, not really understanding the references to the past or the romantic relationship between the two main characters and relationships with other family members.

The book is full of humor; starts slapstick like "the hangover" but then develops into more sophisticated humor. The last third of the book has very funny moments when a professor of history outfits Andrew to reenact a courting scene from 'Pride and Prejudice', I actually LOL. In general the last third of the book is better written and more enjoyable.

Narration: Good, as always! Without SY, I could not have finished this book.

Story: 2 stars, romantic comedy, Not stand-alone. Last third enjoyable.
    Relationships/heat: mild, sweet
    Performance: 4.5 stars, solid!

Overall: 2.5-3 stars, sad to say-not worth a credit unless you read the series that came before...

I recieved this book free from Audiobook Boom in return for my unbiased opinion and written review.
