Secret Santa is New York Times & USA Today best-selling author Kathleen Brooks' novella to update fans on their favorite characters from her Bluegrass books. This installment should follow Rising Storm and precede Acquiring Trouble in the Bluegrass Brothers series.
It wouldn't be Christmas in Keeneston without a party! Everyone's invited, even Santa.... Kenna's court docket is full, Dani's hiding from her in-laws, Paige and Annie are about to burst from pregnancy, and Marshall is breaking up fights at the PTA Christmas concert. The sweet potato casserole is made, the ham and biscuits are on the table, and men are losing their shirts - and not because of bets placed with the Rose Sisters! All the while, the entire town is wondering one thing: Who is the Secret Santa that showed up with special gifts for everyone?

Warning: listening to this novella out of order will spoil some things and leave you confused with others.
As always, just what was ordered! This novella is a quick way to deal with events that will not have a place in the next novel but are important to keep the characters and their lives real for those of us who have fallen in love with the residents of this little community.
No doubt Tammy's present from Santa is needed to fuel events in the upcoming novel. I cannot wait!
The narrator is fabulous as always and make the characters real and believable.
"Listen to this AFTER Book 3!!!"
Cute short story - it throws a lot of characters at you in a short period that you haven't met before, so listen closely.
"Bluegrass Brothers Series, not Bluegrass Series"
I know, right? As of this date, I'm looking at the Audible description of "Secret Santa: A Bluegrass Novella," and is listed as book 2.5 of that series when it is actually "A Bluegrass Brothers Novella" which would put it at about book 5.5 if you started with BG and moved on to BGB. Hellooooo, editors, publishers, anyone? How about considering it all one series instead of 2 since they are all in the same place with common characters who interact with each other? Loss of an overall star for making such a bad decision. OK, so that's why the confusion for the readers and for Audible's data entry peeps who I can't blame because it truly makes no sense. Characters from books 1, 2 and 3 of the Bluegrass Series are in here plus what would seem like spoilers for the next couple of books focused on Paige's brothers, which I am assuming to be the Bluegrass Brothers Series. (sigh) smh
Aside from someone (who should be fired, or possibly maimed) making the horrible mistake of taking A series of books about a KY town and its inhabitants and breaking it into 2 for no logical reason whatsoever, this is a very cute Christmas tie-in to the series...series-es? Having not experienced any of the BGB series yet, there was a bit of, "Who the heck ARE these people?" I think I will enjoy it more once I have "caught up." Even with the confusion, I found it to be a short, sweet and cute Christmas story and a bit of an epilogue/catch-up session. Not sure how many BGB books there are, so it may be an epilogue for the whole series (I'm going with one series here, people-OK?).
Eric G. Dove is a fantastic narrator and the reason I gave this series a try in the first place. His female voices are his only minor weakness, in that they are just OK, but hey, he's a guy....a guy with a very sexy guy voice, so forgiveness granted.
"Secret Santa - An auto buy author for me."
Secret Santa gave a nice semi-closing to several of your "foundational" books on the Bluegrass series. Love them! Makes me feel at home, and Eric G. Dove is excellent as a narrator. Thank you both for the gift of this series. Denise H.
"Love see what other dont see."
sometime people dont know what going on in your life they seem to want to run it for you sometimes love is blind.
Loved the it. Great narrator.
Continuing a great series.
definitely read or listen to previous books first.
"Fun Christmas Short Story!"
Loved this short story about the residents of Keeneston at Christmas.
It was entertaining, lots of fun with some very amusing moments! I just love it when the town gets together! Had some very sweet scenes in that were read beautifully by the narrator too.
"What? I'm lost... Never was found!"
I've read most of the stories so far in this series, or so I had thought. I had no idea who most of these people were in this story and I can't believe anyone would find it interesting and fun to drag on through a boring series of women in labor. Waste of time and a credit. Most certainly.
"Cute Funny Short Story"
I simply howled out loud during the familiar court cases. As they were revisited in this short little book. Darn wish it could have been longer. But it set's the stage for the next brothers book. I will be looking forward to seeing it in the new books section. Hope everyone gets as big of kick out of this short story as I did.
