By day, Viv Franklin is a tough-as-nails software engineer who designs programs and loves hospital corners. By night, Vivian's a secret romance-novel junkie who longs for a knight in shining armor, or a cowboy on a wild stallion, or a strapping firefighter to sweep her off her feet. And she gets to wear the bodice - don't forget the bodice.
When a phone call brings news that she's inherited a beautiful old home in Mendocino, California from a long-forgotten aunt, she moves her entire life across the country to embark on what she sees as a great, romance-novel-worthy adventure. But romance novels always have a twist, don't they?
There's a cowboy, one that ignites her loins. Because Cowboy Hank is totally loin-ignition worthy. But there's also a librarian, Clark Barrow. And he calls her Vivian. Can tweed jackets and elbow patches compete with chaps and spurs? You bet your sweet cow pie.
In Screwdrivered, Alice Clayton pits Superman against Clark in a hilarious and hot battle that delights a swooning Viv/Vivian. Also within this audiobook, an answer to the question of the ages: Why ride a cowboy when you can ride a librarian?

love these cocktail books
OMG, I love this series, it just gets better and better. Thank you Alice Clayton
I didn't think anybody could beat Caroline and Simon but Viv and Clark have. This book is fantastic and I had great trouble putting it down.
Who would you choose Cowboy or Librarian??
I know I would choose a Cowboy every time but not sure now after Clark.
I would recommend this series and I can't wait for Mai Tai'd Up.
"Life is a Romance Novel?"
This one was a choice made by my girl Sasha being as she's into the author. I'm okay with the redhead series in general and this; the cocktail series has some high points, this being 1 of them for the most part. My major issue with this piece of fiction was the whole "my life is a romance novel" crap that Viv talked for most of the book. There was also way too many detours into romance fiction cliches and breathless narration. The whole "I want a badboy" theme is one of the lamest ideas that ever entered a straight girl's mind. Too many of my girls have tried to effect that sort of transformation in some bad*** wannabe or loser; only to end up brokenhearted when; surprise, the dude doesn't change. As a female who does the bad girl thing I can tell you that I'm not changing. In the end of course the crazy lady gives up on it and ends up with the right guy, and they all live happily ever after.
"Sidesplitting Funny & Quirky Romance!"
This spinoff from Wallbanger was hilarious! Viv, the cowboy, and the sexy librarian totally had me cracking up chapter after chapter. If you like to root for the underdog, this is the quirky romance novel for you! It's totally different than Wallbanger, but, very much the same in that you will fall head over heels for Alice Clayton books. It's more or less a stand alone book even though it's advertised as book 3 in a series. I highly recommend this one as a credit worthy purchase.
"Wallbanger fans, skip this!!"
This book is, perhaps, the biggest disappointment of the year. Wallbanger is one if my top 3 reads of all time. This book was boring, crude, had a super annoying, unlikeable heroine, and had no chemistry between the H & h. With one hour left in the book, Viv was still wanting the cowboy. This read more like Chick Lit. The romance was lacking tremendously. I didn't care what happened to them by the end. :-( The narrator was pretty good. She is too breathy, though.
I absolutely adore the writing of Alice Clayton. I doubt she can write a bad story. Screwdrivered is funny, charming, sweet and sexy. A unique blend between chick lit and contemporary romance. Quality narration only enhanced an already good thing.
"not a big fan of the narrater"
It seems like a great book, but the narrator wasn''t my cup of tea and a bit too theatrical for my taste
"great first experience"
First time using Audible, loved it! Funny story and good performance kept me entertained for hours. I didn't even mind traffic! Already using it again and will definitely listen to more Alice Clayton.
"Best one yet"
This is the best Alice Clayton book yet and they are all fantastic. Laughed out loud all the way home
"Another funny, sweet romantic hit"
I loved this book. I think I loved it as much as the first 2 books in this series, maybe even more. I laughed, cried and had to fan myself throughout the entire story. Can't wait to start the next one.
A little slow at times and far too wordy when describing simple things. Good audio book. I may have put it down if I were actually reading it. Loved the performance as in all the other books she has written.
"Good book but, soundtrack skips a lot throughout."
Pretty good book, a little predictable and lacking but not bad. The audible skipped a lot, which makes me think they owe me a credit.
