Texan pageant winner Reese Taylor has a former classmate who wants her dead. Now she must leave her friends and family to enter a protection program on Emerson Ranch. A group of good-looking cowboys awaits her, but Reese has her eye on Blake Emerson, the one man too busy with the ranch to give her a chance. Blake Emerson has no time to go lookin' for love. He's got a ranch to run, positions to fill, and an ache in his heart from love gone wrong.
So when he agrees to harbor a witness to help on the ranch, Blake assumes his first two problems are solved. But he never dreamed his new guest would be a woman. One he was destined to lose his heart to. With sparks burning hot and danger around the bend, one question lingers in his mind: Has he only added to his list of troubles, or has Blake just found the woman of his dreams?

"Kept me coming back for more!"
Wonderful story that was both sweet and suspenseful. It was so exciting at the end that I had to finish it with headphones at my desk at work because I couldn't wait until the end of the day to find out how it ended. It was my first experience with an audio book which took me a while to get used to but the reader did a good job differentiating between the voices of the characters. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
"loved this book. ."
I didn't want to put it down I will define try read more books by author
"Engaging story line!!"
Yes I would because it kept you interested, wanting to find out what was going to happen next.
Reese, because she was down to earth and you could see her as a real person.
The ability to listen and enjoy a good book and still be able to accomplish daily chores.
"Good Story. Great Narration. Sweet Romance!"
I love a good sweet romance every now and then. Reese's Cowboy Kiss: Witness Protection did not disappoint. I enjoyed the fast pace of the story and never got bored or found my mind wandering, which says a lot for a story! I enjoyed Reese's upbeat and positive outlook on things, even though she had been through some terrible traumas. It would have been good to see more character development of this girl. The story lacked any trauma surrounding the fact that she was ripped from her home and thrown into an unfamiliar world with no contact with her former life and no one to rely on but herself. I would have been very traumatized! The other main character, Blake, was a sincere and genuinely caring man. I liked "hearing" what he was thinking and feeling. I appreciated the human side of our hero. I like that he made mistakes, and then fixed them. The story had a familiar plot, but it somehow managed to keep my attention and intrigue all the way to the end. I wanted to see happiness and good prevail, and these two characters deserved the happiness that came their way.
I am a theatrical person, so I tend to judge narrators very harshly. When I read a book, I hear the voice of every character. When I listen to a book, I expect to hear the different voices. I felt the narrator did a fantastic job portraying the voices of each character. There were times that I felt she read Reese as a flippant young girl, and that bothered me, considering Reese is an educated woman who has her bachelor's degree and is not a teenager. There were times that the narrator's voice was rough and inconsistent when starting a new chapter or when she obviously had stopped and started again mid-recording, but overall, I give a big thumbs up to her. Well done!
Overall, I give this Audible recording 3.75 stars, which is a high rating, considering how I rate things. Way to go Kimberly and Lesley!
"Wonderful story with an amazing voice"
I love this whole story. The sweet and sassy of Reese and how she captures Blake's heart.
The end, without giving anything away, the whole book was wrapped up perfectly. But there were many, many great moments.
Reese, she totally captured how I would imagine her sweet southern drawl. I think Lesley Ann Fogle did a great job making you feel the difference of each character that Kimberly Krey has written.
I could have laughed and cried. There were many moments that make you feel all sorts of things. She made you love the good characters and hate the evil.
I loved reading this book and couldn't wait when I heard it was coming out on Audible. Lesley Ann Fogle has done a great job putting a voice to an amazing story. I have no doubt that I will listen to this story again... and again. And I look forward to her other books on Audible as well.
"An Overall Impressive Story"
Passion, Joy, and Homeliness.
I enjoyed Blake as a character in this novel. The role of responsibility that he held was very attractive. It brought him into a distinctly honorable position that could not be overlooked.
Her performance with the use of dialect was truly exceptional. It was easy to distinguish between the multiple characters in the novel without a fuss.
I was most impacted by some history given by one of the characters in the book. It left me pondering long after the words were said.
It was an admirable novel. I would not pass up the opportunity to read it.
Yes, I would listen to this book again, it has a great story line, I loved the characters. I enjoyed listening to the narrator her voice was very easy to listen to.
I loved everything about this story, the book has a wonderful love story with just enough mystery and suspense.
I loved Lesley Ann Fogle's southern voice, it was perfect for this book. I look forward to listening more books by this narrator.
This was a great book, I highly recommend it!
This was a fun and exciting story. The romance in this book is sweet and clean although there was much kissing and the suspense near the end of the book is very exciting.
the mud scene
Over all Lesley did a wonderful performance. I never once didn't want to stop listening to the story except to work and sleep.
The developing relationship between Reese and Blake, which turn out to be a wedding.
This was such a clean, sweet read and those are not so easy to find these days.
"I didn't even know I had so many emotions!"
It is very rare for me to fall in love with just about every character in a book, but I did with this one! Each person has this unique charm and I found myself wanting to be there in that ranch house having dinner with them all more than once. I can't think of the last book I read that made me laugh out loud, cry, AND managed to spook me. This book had it all I did NOT want it to end.
I have to go with Reese. I fell hard for her optimism and sweet outlook despite the terrifying things she has to face. I really related to her on that level and found it so beautiful. She had this quiet power about her as well that I don't think she even realized she had. I want to be her BFF.
How can I write this without spoiling it? There was a part that involved a video of Reese's family that had me in a puddle in my kitchen. My husband came home and saw me bawling while I was sweeping my floor and thought someone had been hurt. Man. So dang sweet.
Again- the video. Just the way her family was talking. I can't imagine going through what they went through as a family. Her mom and dad...those poor, sweet people.
I am starting book 2 of this series tomorrow and I CAN'T WAIT. I need to pace myself so I don't finish it in a couple of days like I did with this one. I was so happy to see it was the same woman reading the book. She's amazing. Good work, ladies!
"Love this story!"
A wonderful romance that's sweet and clean, with lots of passionate kisses!!! My kind of story! Don't miss this one, or any of the others in this series, they are all great!
