Two teenagers are catapulted back in time to alter history and save the medieval kingdom of Wales...

    "History is not Destiny"
If you could sum up Prince of Time in three words, what would they be?

    Across another dimension.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked that what started as a Time Travel story where the characters realize they are in a past time, in this book evolves to a realization that rather than travelling through time in a single continuum, they are traversing time periods between connected but also independent timelines. David, the young Prince, is freed from the constraints of what was the past, the history before, and takes charge of his, and his people's, destiny to chart their own future history. This appeals to the idealist in me.

What does Laurel Schroeder bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Laurel Schroeder is able to express the personality of each character so well, that listening to the book is like hearing each point of view from the character themselves. The audiobook is, for me, definitely an enrichment of my experiencing the story.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were plenty that had me laughing, not so much as to a joke, but in understanding - comprehending for example the feelings that Bronwyn may have experienced as she adjusted to medieval life. Being a time traveler is, I imagine, much like being an outsider or foreigner trying to function in a different culture or society - something that I can empathize with - and I found myself resonating with many moments in the book. However, the moment that particularly moved me I think would be when David's aunt came back to the house and said "I'm ready to listen"

    Any additional comments?

    * Fair disclosure: I received a promotional code for this audiobook, with no strings attached. My opinions are my own and are the same opinions I would have had if I had purchased the audiobook outright - which I would have done if I hadn't received a copy from the author.

    "Imagination expanded"

The continuing story of "what if..." is intriguing and captured my attention throughout the book. Character development moves along briskly and the jump between modern day and 13th century Wales is handled well and is consistent with the series.
I couldn't help rooting for the main characters, groaning when they run into difficulties, and cheering when events go their way. I will definitely continue to listen to this series!!

What did you like best about this story?

I love the fact that this is set in historical times and asks the question what if.

    Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene was when Bronson realized she actually was in 13th century Wales.

    "And the adventure continues..."
Would you consider the audio edition of Prince of Time to be better than the print version?

I'd consider them both equal in quality. My personal preference is of course always reading, but I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the story just as well. Comparing audio to print is really only about personal preference. Some prefer to read, some prefer to listen, and then there are those who like to do both - reading when they can or listening when reading is not an option (such as driving).

What other book might you compare Prince of Time to and why?

As far as action, I'd say it compares easily to the vivid descriptions of Melanie Rawn's older books - in particular Dragon Prince. It's perhaps one of my all time favorite books, and Ms. Woodbury has a way of involving you in the battles so you feel as if you're in the middle of it. As far as the time jumping though, it is very unique. I have yet to find another to compare to it. That makes it a wonderful overall story.

    Which scene was your favorite?

David's singing like a loon or David in the midst of a concussion talking about Lily. Both made me laugh a lot. You're reminded in both scenes just how much of a kid he still is.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There weren't really any extremely sad moments in this one like in the previous one, but David with his aunt - that one choked me up just a little. It was a beautifully written scene.

    Any additional comments?

This makes the 3rd book I've listened too, and I cannot wait for the next in the series. I'm as addicted to listening to them as I am to reading them. Excellent series! As with the previous two, Ms. Schroeder does amazingly well with the voices and the narration. She keeps it so interesting that you barely register that you're at the end of the book until it's all over. I love it.

Would you consider the audio edition of Prince of Time to be better than the print version?

No, it was an easier way to enjoy a beloved story or a wonderful way for a new "reader" to find this awesome series...

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the idea of time travel and being able to stop their father's death. Yes, it altered history, but their being in the past already changed the future...

Have you listened to any of Laurel Schroeder’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I feel like I'm there with them...

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When they realize they are staying... It's hard to say why but the pivotal point for them seems to be that single moment forever...
