Matilde Martinez and Eliah Al-Saud are fighting hard to forget each other. After watching their love crumble before their eyes in the perilous Congo, the kind, beautiful pediatric surgeon and the rich, handsome soldier struggle to move past their pain and acknowledge the romance was doomed from the start.
Matilde, as always, seeks solace in helping others. Her humanitarian work takes her to the Gaza Strip, where she works to heal those struggling to survive - but she must also heal emotional and physical wounds of her own.
Meanwhile, Eliah throws himself back into his responsibilities as the owner of a security operation in Paris, trying to put an end to his overwhelming obsession with Matilde.
But when the two suddenly find themselves pawns in Saddam Hussein's scheme to make Iraq a nuclear power, they must desperately reunite before catastrophe can swallow them whole.
The frenetic, explosive finale to the epic Year of Fire series pits kindness, solidarity, and the power of the human spirit against hate, violence, and terror - as the world hangs in the balance.

"Another breathtaking story!"
Yes most certainly I would. Along with the 2 books preceding this one (which I listened through another service). There is nothing wrong with the series, in fact, this is literature, not just another love story but literature with a heart wrenching story, good humor, brilliant plot and steamy scenes.
The narrator did an excellent job, both with male and female characters. I even wanted to choose my next book based on what he had narrated but no luck there... So hoping he will do more fiction in the future.
This book was difficult to listen to in public, it made me laugh, cry and blush. Not all the time but enough.
It seems that some people gave up on the 1st book in the series because of the endless name, location and road name dropping - too much to keep track of and plot seems to be too hard to follow. While I have to admit that yes, I have never heard as many locations or peoples full names being recited continuously, my advice: don't care about it. It will all come together and you'll get used to it.
"Exceptional, Awesome, Fantastic......"
An amazing author. I wish all her books were in English. I adore the books in the whole series. The description, historical perspective, relationships could almost make it that you could be ready a non fiction. The translation and narration is fantastic as well.
