I'm not a philosophical kind of bloke, but I know something about luck. A childhood on the wrong side of advantage will teach you that. It's all a matter of chance. It's both your circumstances and the chances you take. So I've always been a gambler and a ladies man - they love me and I love them. Now I've found one like no other - an American, Allison Wright. When I met her, the fates were on my side, but too soon I learned the odds were against me.

"Heroine is far too RIGHTEOUS"
Let me 1st say the heroine was too much. She was indecisive , judgemental , & indignant about absolutely everything. The Hero deserves better. He came off as desperate and needy . the herione didn't seem to reciprocate those feelings. The heroine was suppose to be in her mid 30's but came off like she just graduated college. Maybe had the author made her younger he actions would be more acceptable. As For the writting it was okay. I just didnt care for the way the author made the Hero the only person with issues. The heroine eventually did apologize for leading him on but it was far too late at that point for me. I wished he didn't forgive her ao easily. some groveling from the herione would have made it easier for the listener to accept the reconciliation.
The heroine was suppose to be this professional uptight naive women, which for me was a complete put off. i found myself rolling my eyes a few times at her parts. it was like being lectured by your mom .
As to the narration it was okay, nothing to complain about. The epilogue was not that great. I didnt like the HEA it seemed to fit into the heroines version of HEA not so much the Hero. All i have to say is out of 3 not one Boy.. really!
I will not be listening again.
"Romance from his point of view ..."
emotional, endearing and HOT!
When David and Allison were finally able to be with one another.
Mr. Watt hits it out of the ball park with this performance. The way he seamlessly goes between English, American and Scottish accents is flawless. Then add in the fact that he is narrating both male and female characters ~ wow! If you haven't listened to any of his previous books you would be hard pressed to tell what his native accent is.
Mr. Watt drew me into the story and kept me wanting more. I loved it!
At over 9 hours, this book makes a great weekend listen. The story is captivating and you won't want to put it down.
Nor Ordinary Guy is the story of David, an Englishman in his mid 30's who has had a rough upbringing but with hard work has made something of himself. During one of his trips for business he meets Allison, an American business woman, and starts a friendship with her. Wanting more David courts her but his past keeps coming between them. Not only does he have a temper but his multitude of past girlfriends and acquaintances is more than Allison can handle. Will they be able to work thru this and live a happy life together?
Ms. Whitney has written a wonderful romance novel from the man's point of view. She has written David as a man who has flaws but is also redeemable. I loved this about him. Yes, he has had a troubled past but he is willing to do what it takes to be with the woman he loves.
As mentioned above, Mr. Watt has outdone himself with the narration of this story. I can't wait to find more of his work.
I would recommend this story to those who like romance with a deeper story. Due to some mature scenes in the book I would rate this as a book for those 18+.

Will Watt is amazing!! The way he tells the story it just sucks in you, and you don't want to get out!! If a book has a good narrator as this one did, the audio is always better than a print copy.
I like that two people took there time getting know each other, and forming a true relationship. David and Allison did not always see eye to eye, they did not always get along, but you always felt the love that was between them was stronger than obstacles they were facing at the time.
This was the first time I listen to a book narration by Will, but it will not be my last!! He was truly amazing and to me he made the book GREAT!! Will was funny and charming, he made me smile, laugh and cry and in the end i just wanted to swoon!!
Yes i just had to know what was going to happen.

"Falling in Love!"
I won't lie and write that I love romance, it's not my favorite genre at all but I do like to change up from time to time. Mary Whitney's story is well written and I think I fell in love with David, yes seriously. I haven't read/listened to Mary's first stories but I think I should've before taking this story on. I found David to be a fun character, loveable, and his way to make women swoon.
Narrator Will M. Watt did a fantastic job with his telling of the story. I thought the accents were superb. I most likely wouldn't have finished this story of not for his narration. He kept me immersed in this story and I had no trouble identifying each character. This is why the story gets 5 🌟, great job picking your narrator Mary. Overall, yes a 5 🌟 rating.

"See what a guy thinks about women."
Yes. It was interesting to be in the mind of an ordinary guy,
Excellent performance. Clear and concise. Made you feel like he was the actual character.
When he promised he would not kiss her and stuck to his promise.

"No Ordinary Book or Performance! I DEMAND MORE NOW"
⌂ I rarely give five stars in all categories but No Ordinary Man is definitely 5 star worthy!!
Dave Bates is a powerful, handsome, charming businessman with tons of former women girlfriends. That is his life, he has no expectations and is happy. He had a rough time growing up and as a result has extremes. He can have a terrible, vicious temper. However, whenever one of his ex-girlfriends sends a wedding invitation, he is certain to pick out something nice and expensive for her. He never speaks poorly of his past conquests and seems to maintain a friendliness with them.
One day, on a business trip he runs into the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. She is a stunning, tall redhead. He flirts with her and she banters back – he purposely throws out double entendre's, keeping her off balance and unsure how/if she should address them or ignore them.
She has been in a serious relationship with her boyfriend (also a coworker) for a long time, but Bates is so very charming. She feels a pull toward him, but a responsibility or duty toward her live in, long term relationship.
This book was an absolute treasure to listen to. I did not want it to end. While *I did receive this book book in exchange for my review, this is one of the reasons that I take the time and listen to so many books. This was an absolute gem and I would've used a credit or paid out right for it.
The narrator, Will M. Watt is brilliant!!! He has fast become one of my favorite male narrators. Watt seamlessly moves between many different accents as well as characters. He is a perfect storyteller – I did not hear narration, I was listening to hear what happened next. That is is the mark of an excellent performer. I've listened to 3 or 4 books narrated by Watt and they were all spot on!
Notes: Mature themes & strong language
Once again, I wholeheartedly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys a great, sexy romance with a gripping storyline. Fantastic! Wonderful! Brilliant! More please, now!

"I had a bloody good time reading this book!"
Mary Whitney is a new author for me and I'm always happy to add another author on my audible watch list and a favorite on my chick lit shelf. I liked the interaction of the H/h as their relationship developed from friends to lovers.
Don't think I've listened to Will in the past but I enjoyed his narration of the book. Suffice it to say I was swept from Singapore, to London, NY, DC, SF, and hmmm somewhere Midwest. All in all I recommend to those into light romance, British chick lit, and looking for a lovable book boyfriend.
"Great book from the guy's perspective."
No Ordinary Guy byMary Whitney and narrated by Will Watt.
This book captured my attention from the first word. It was interesting to listen to it because it was told from the male perspective. It is not often that I listen to a romance point of view based on the opposite gender, so I enjoyed this book for this reason. It helped that the narrator had a British accent, accentuating the voice of the main character (David).
The varied descriptions of the settings throughout gave it a sense of being there. Additionally, I was able to understand what the characters were going through and feeling, based on the way it was written and read.
I found this to be a great book and recommend it to any one.
"I LOVED IT!"
I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
David Bates is the vice president of an investment firm. He is such a good guy who loves his family, friends, and women very much. David is definitely a play boy until he meets Allison Wright. The only problem? Allison isn’t available…
The book was well written. I did not have any issues with the writing at all. I was able to stay on track with the book from start to finish. The narration was also great. Narrator, Will M. Watt, did awesome. All of the accents were perfect, without coming off too strong so that they weren’t understandable. Every character has his/her own accent and it stayed consistent throughout the entire novel. This book couldn’t have been better! Definitely 5 STARS!
"Entertaining Romance from the Male POV"
Funny, touching, and sexy listen. Great characters~David and Allison had a long distance courtship (New York and London) with many ups and downs. Both very successful but with much baggage in their past~it was so fascinating to see their relationship evolve with the help of their loving families (loved brother Pete and cousins Adam and Sylvia). Narration is just superb~epilogue was perfect!
