Against his will, Noctorno Hawthorne, an undercover vice cop, finds himself embroiled in magic, mayhem, and parallel universes. Too late, he meets an amazing woman - only to find she's destined for his identical twin in another world. And things aren't going real great there.
Noc is recruited to help save that world. What he doesn't know is his destined love resides there.
Franka Drakkar wears a mask. A mask she never takes off, to protect herself in a world of malice, intrigue, and danger. When Franka meets Noc and he discovers her secrets, convinced she carries a midnight soul, having shielded herself from forming bonds with anyone, she struggles with accepting his tenderness and care. When Noc meets Franka, over wine and whiskey her mask slips, and Noc knows it's her - only her - and he has to find a way to get her to come home with him.
And then make her want to stay.

I think this is my favorite series by Kristen Ashley. Great characters and story line. Thank goodness they weren't saying their lovers names over and over a and over!!
"still not as good as book 2"
It was really entertaining hearing about the characters exploring this world but other than that it was lacking. I've heard the 5 books in the series and the only one i wanted to hear again was book 2, that had a really well taught out story.
"Midnight Soul is Very Good Ending to the Series"
Of the series Golden Dynasty is my favorite; but Midnight Soul was delightful and I do recommend it. I enjoyed the Frannie and Noc romance and the way we got insight into the lives of all the other characters.
I liked the way both of them had to let go of the past and believe for a bright feature and except love...
It was nice to see how the other Lahn and Circe met and started their romance. I would have loved it if they had their own book. (The chemistry between the two was really mind blowing) in the few scenes they were in.
I would say for those who like romance and adventure Midnight Soul is a delight and worth the credit.
"not worth the credit."
really struggled to finish this one. favorites are book 2 and 4. this book didn't add anything to the series.
"I have loved this series...awesome!"
and I plan to listen to these stories over and over. Kristen Ashley you rock!
I love this character BUT I was very displeased with the language**
He could have NOT used GD bomb.. His vocabulary LACKED and it was very disappointing seeing as he had a heart of gold..
"Needs More Soul"
OK--this is definitely NOT one of my favorite KA books; not even close. The sole reason it rated 3 stars was the creativity of this whole fantasyland series. While this book had its moments, the body of the work was pretty lackluster when compared to the first 4 books in the series. I hesitate to write further as spoilers would be inevitable in order to understand my response. I found 'Frannie' to be a non-compelling heroine for the most part and had not much more investment in Noc. The primary character in this book that resonated with me was Josette (remember I listened, so spelling may be an issue). Josette was a new character specific to this book; the other compelling character is Valentine, who has been a continuing character.
I think I understand KA's intent behind this story and there are quite a few strong moments/conversations. Yet, this book , to me, just does not have the force behind it that the first four have had.
The redeeming performance by Tillie Hooper is another reason for the 3 stars. She's quite magnificent as ALL voices. I am hopeful this is NOT the final book in the series.
my favorite story....l loved every minute of the mix of both world and great couples
"Not the best in the series"
I felt like this was a repetitive book. I look for long books, but this could of been shortened and been better.
This one wasn't the best of the series. It gives a lot of answers to questions, but its very long and drawn out.
Not my favorite narrator. Not bad at different voices on the whole though.
I feel like this ended about everything. There really aren't anymore unanswered questions with this book, so it doesn't feel like you need a follow-up.
I was disappointed by this book. I waited a long time for these to com onto audio-book format and in the end this book was a letdown.
