When college freshman Rowan Michaels meets gorgeous, up-and-coming rock star Adam Everest, she knows a player like him is the last thing she needs after her ex-boyfriend shattered her heart. But she can't stop thinking about the kiss they shared on his tour bus.
On the first day of school, Rowan is stunned when Adam saunters into her French class. He's soon failing miserably, and, on a whim, she offers to tutor him. But Adam doesn't recognize her as a makeup-free, glasses-clad college student - a far cry from the beautiful, mysterious "Peach" he met at his concert.
During a wild weekend on tour with the band, Rowan can't help falling for the sweet guy buried beneath Adam's rocker persona. Yet she knows she could never compete with the girls constantly throwing themselves at his feet. She'd just end up hurt... again.
Peach is all Adam thinks about, though, and when Rowan realizes this, she has a decision to make: stay just friends to protect her fragile heart... or reveal the truth about the night they met and admit she's fallen completely, hopelessly in love with him.

This book has everything I hold dear in a great book, fantastic characters, lovely twists and turns, romantic and sexy and funny ...
The narrative was perfect and added that extra dimension Andi Arndt is as usual fabulous ... This is the first time I've ever listened to Adam Verner and although I didn't feel his contribution was needed it was very pleasing
"YA/ New Adult, College Aged, Rock Star, Romance"
Never read print.
OK, so there is only one other review on here (at this time) and I think this book deserves a review from a different prospective. This is a YA/ New Adult Romance novel, with college aged students as the main characters. Personally I enjoyed the pace of the novel. I think the interaction between the female lead and male lead was... enjoyable, frustrating, and funny at times. Yes, they don't really get very physical till the last few chapters (excluding the beginning). And wow, ya, things get a little steamy. All I have to say is 10, 9, 8... Any who, they have some great chemistry going on through most of the story, whenever they are together. The story focuses mostly on the getting to the b/g relationship. So they have a relationship throughout most of the book just not in a relationship during the plot. But fear not there is plenty of teasing going on along with the crazy frustrating reasoning on why they can't be together. Lol, I admit even I got a little confused on their reasoning at times. But the author took what could have been a used story line and went off in a couple different directions I wasn't expecting. And I think that's what made the book for me. That, and great supporting characters (Peaches friends), some pretty funny moments, and well Adam! "Please?" made me do the stupid fan girl giggle thing (I hate that, but jeez!) Which leads me to the awesomeness of the narrator, Andi! Who made you forget you weren't watching a movie but listening to a book, and she was the only voice speaking. Enough said. A job well done. Now, the random male narrator at the very end did kind of throw me out of the story a little. I just wasn't expecting it. I think he did a good job, but I just wasn't a fan of the sound of his voice. I just couldn't picture that voice on Adam. Huh, oh well. The change of view was interesting and different (I actually think I liked it, I think). Plus it warped up some loose endings. So what can you, do? For its genre (YA/ New Adult romance) I think this has to be one of the better novels I've listened to. Perhaps in the top 10. Needless to say if you aren't interested in this type of genre then I wouldn't recommend. But if you are and you enjoy handsome, sweet, bad boy rock stars and corny HEA endings I recommend this novel and can't wait for the next one to be released! In disclosure I am in the targeted age group for this novel.
"Surprised by how much I loved this book!"
What a good listen! I got this solely based on the reviews, and they weren't wrong! The perfect amount of drama, comedy, and sex appeal kept me hooked and I couldn't stop listening. Rowen might have gone a little crazy sometimes, but it was part of her wholesome, naïve charm. And yes, Adam is the perfect rockin', swoon-worthy hero. If you like this genre, you'll love this book!
Very sweet young adult romance. Loved the chemistry between the characters. Very nice read, relaxing, not as much drama as the usual bad boy rocker books.
This story is so well written with an exciting hero and strong heroine that really draw you in. The supporting characters are fun and developed well. By the end, you feel like you are part of the story, you know everyone so well. As stated by other reviewers, the sex does not come until the end, but it comes at the perfect moment for the story. So many authors miss this concept. Sometimes a story needs more sex scenes, but so many times they are just thrown in to fill pages. I was never bored, never felt the story was missing anything. Yes, it is more of a YA, but a good romance is a good romance, no matter the age.
I love Andy Arndt's narration. Her first performance for me was Lick, one of my all time favorite rock romances. She did an excellant job here as well.
If you love a romance that will stay with you long after you finish, don't let this one pass you by. I will be following this auther for more great romance...
"Slow burn with a scorching finish"
My best Audible buddy recommended this one to me and although I tend to not enjoy rocker books, I absolutely loved this one. It takes place with the characters in college, so NA which is perfect for me.
The slow, slow burn of this story kept me amped and wanton and just when I was going to get frustrated, the explosion happened and it was so good and so amazing.
Andi Arndt narrates 99% of this book with Adam Verner just having the last chapter. Andi is perfection with any character but she excels at alpha, bad boys and that's what we had here. The one chapter Adam did was great.
"Not the deepest of books but quite enjoyable"
First of all I adore Andi Arndt, she is consistently good and has a way of making you connect to the characters. The story wasn't too deep but it was a fun and sweet listen.
"Want to read it again and again!!!"
I have not read a Jamie Shaw book but had this in my wish list. Saw other's raved about it so I gave it a try. I am so glad I did. This was a great love story of opposites attract. The characters were great and the storyline fun. It brought me back to my college days and first loves. It is a must read.
Didn't think I'd like the story when I started reading it, but it was fun, warm, and interesting all around.
"Great Start to a New Adult Series !"
Shaw is a New to Me author and I am so glad that I gave MAYHEM a chance cause I really enjoyed the storyline, the characters and I am so excited to get my ears (hands) on RIOT and see what happens with Joel and Dee!
Sometimes a New Adult can get too angsty and depressing, but MAYHEM was just the right amount of secret crush emotion mixed with tons of humor and just light-hearted goodness! Great debut for the series!
"Good - it lags a bit but strong ending"
There was a huge lag in the middle of the book. HUGE LAG. That section could have been cut back considerably to make the story stronger. That being said, the end was really good and overall it was entertaining.
