"This is the kind of novel that makes you look forward to bedtime so you can read some more - an epic true romance story." (Historical Novel Society)
I loved this book the first time I read it and the audio version does not disappoint. Roll on the next 2 in audio and this author's other books too. A good story with accurate historical detail, lots of suspense and characters to love. The narrator manages the accents beautifully and made the people live and breathe so convincingly I could almost see their faces.
I found it difficult to stop listening because at the end of each chapter there was that moment when you really just wanted to find out what was going to happen next!
mustn't give the story away but there was so many ups and downs and twists and turns.
At one point I thought the story line was going down the route of so many stories I've read before and I started to get disappointed but thankfully it turned out differently.
Looking forward to the next book
this book starts with the usual upstairs downstairs life, but soon enters into tangle of threats, lies and love triangles. I really enjoyed listening to it
