Open your heart to romance and scars of the body and mind are washed away by love.
Award-winning erotic Regency romance writer Samantha Kane weaves together scarred individuals - two men, one woman - into a sexually combustible and emotionally responsive threesome. Cleo Morrell thrills with seductive, whisperish British tones in detailing Napoleonic War veterans Gideon North and Charles Borrden (the former burned and missing a limb, the latter emotionally shattered) consummating a previously unfulfilled love for each other by gratifying the sexual desires Sarah Whitley assumed would never be met due to a most unfortunate birthmark.
Brothers in Arms, book seven
Gideon North wants a wife. She must be practical and hardworking. But above all, she must have a hearty constitution. Horribly injured and scarred from his Peninsular War service, Gideon does not want to deal with a wife who flinches every time she looks at him.
Gideon's estate manager Charles Borden was his sergeant in the war. Inseparable but almost always at odds, the two men agree that Sarah Whitley is the perfect wife for Gideon. Strong, beautiful and intelligent with a dry sense of humor, Sarah bears her own marks from a life spent in the shadows.
When Sarah learns to let go of her past fears, she frees both men to acknowledge the love and attraction that has always existed between them. The three become intimate but the eroticism of their encounters in the bedroom does not guarantee happiness. Gideon's defenses mire them in the past. Only together can Sarah and Charles break through to build a future with Gideon.

This isn't my usual type of book although it was well read by the narrator, the narrative didn't flow. However I am so relieved that the English accent was tolerable if a little hammed up- I am about sick of hackneyed English from American narrators!
The story was sweet and it was nice that a ménage story was written sympathetically, loved the use of 'old fashioned' English language.
"Love's a Good Fortress"
Gideon North wants a wife. Horribly injured and scarred from his Peninsular War service, Gideon does not want to deal with a wife who flinches every time she looks at him. Gideon’s estate manager Charles Borden was his sergeant in the war. Inseparable but almost always at odds, the two men agree that Sarah Whitley is the perfect wife for Gideon. Strong, beautiful and intelligent with a dry sense of humor, Sarah bears her own marks she has a birth mark on her face that she hides under big hats. This was a good book better than the last one to me. Charles has been in love with Gideon since the war and although the two only had sex once they still loved each other, but where to afraid to say anything to each other. The conflict is mostly centered around Gideon's coming to grips with his experiences and injuries in the war, and the insecurity and hesitance between the two men to fully accept their erotic feelings. The conflict is believable and tightly interwoven with the developing sexual and romantic relationship. Charles and Sarah are both so very open hearted and unselfish in their coming together to reach out to Gideon. I love reading and listening to menage this book was hot and well written "read". This book was filled with a lot of emotions Sarah learning that it's ok to love two men and the two men learning to love each other and her. Charles gave her the courage to be her own person and be herself. This book was really good and I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series and I am hoping that it is as hot as this one.
