Summary
Fern is glaring thirty in the face and can't ignore the love lies any longer. Life with Adam was amazing once, but she believes a romantic wedding should be the next step and Adam just won't go down on one knee. Then a chance meeting with Scottie Taylor - the UK's sexiest pop star - lights fireworks in Fern that won't stop exploding.

Brilliant!!
What a great story. I laughed out loud, I cried and I was shocked.
I'm a huge fan (superfan) of a certain male pop star and the beginning of this book was so realistic, the way the main character acted when she met Scottie it was brilliant.
I fell in and then out of love with Scottie and just loved Fern all the way through.
I'm not sure if there is another book following on from this one I will definitely be reading it.
Brilliant, brilliant book!!

Always wanting what we can't have, is the moral
If you could sum up Love Lies in three words, what would they be?
chick-lit, enjoyable and predicable
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The most interesting part of the story is watching the heroine change from a normal girl into someone who is happy to fall for the glitz and glamour and miss out on the things that matter. Makes you wonder if we would all be seduced by money and glamour
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
The narration was good, but the pace of the book wasn't very fast.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Being late 30's and unmarried I can relate to her desperation and the ultimatum...and the willingness to overlook certain issues and problems in the pursuit of the perfect happily ever after
Any additional comments?
An ok book, easy listening, but not laugh out loud as I had hoped.

Written for teenagers
I have read many Adele Parks books and enjoyed them, they usually have a bit of depth but this book surely can’t be aimed at adults ? I have just given up on it as it just seems to be about a thirty year old woman chasing after a pop star as her boyfriend hasn’t proposed to her ! It has the odd expletive thrown in to try and make it seem like a grown up book but it is one of the worse books I have listened to in a long while. Would be great if you were 16 maybe !! Narrator did a good job but other than that…………

Predictable “read it all before” chick lit
Just finished Adele Parks “the state we are in” which I got on a daily deal, and thoroughly enjoyed it, so I thought I’d try some more of hers.
I wish I hadn’t, this is just banal chick lit that feels like it’s been churned out in a weekend.
Sorry I don’t normally write bad reviews but this got on my nerves enough to inspire me to!!

No substance - a book for teenagers
I found this book so boring I had to keep fast forwarding to finish it quickly.
There is no substance to the storyline and a bit shallow, it’s a book for teenagers in my opinion.
Wouldn’t recommend
