Summary
Leigh Epstein and friends are single, twenty-something-year-old schoolteachers living relatively normal lives until Leigh stumbles upon a magic writing desk. What will happen with Leigh and her band of magical misfits as they bounce from disaster to catastrophe when she discovers the extent of her powers?
Will anyone be safe from the calamity when Leigh is magically compelled to write hot, steamy romance titles like Four-bitten Fangtasy, Bangin' the Billion-Were, Sleighing the Elfa, and Regurgitant...or anything else for that matter?
Chaos is sure to ensue when you add in three sexy hot roofers, magical brownies, a paranormal pet shop, a hot SEAL with amnesia, zompires, Fur-Con, and Leigh's psychotic familiar, Luna.
Follow along as Leigh takes on The Witches Union Local 1313, galloping golems, and pesky ghosts, just to name a few.

Brilliant
This one is full of fun and fantastic characters. There have been so many places that I’ve laughed out loud as the situation just goes to the extreme but it’s so well done that it feels natural. This is also amazing value with narration that makes it go to the next level

Enchanting and hilarious
Accidental Leigh is utterly fantastic! Leigh's intentions are so wonderful. I love that she tried to help her friends when she was figuring her magic out. Honestly this book is laugh out loud hilarious. I was listening to the audiobook on the train laughing like a crazy person. The phrase "taco dinner" is going to stay with me forever. And the cow scene is hysterical!
The second book, Serious Leigh, builds on everything that made the first book a delight. I laughed all the way through the brownie/hotel scene. When Leigh thinks she's dead and days "Oh my god I pissed off Jesus and he hung up on me!" I lost it so badly! Same for the Spongebob/Pavlov reference. The cookout scene is absolute perfection. I love Gertie's confusion about modern times/culture. Hunter is lovely too, I'm really enjoying the blossoming relationship there. The overall plot of Leigh's book and the witches union is steadily coming to light and I'm intrigued to see where it goes.
Hopeful Leigh somehow manages to get even better. At times it borders on inappropriate levels of funny. Early on I was laughing so hard someone asked me what the joke was and there was no way I was explaining how this particular spell had worked out. I like that more of the characters are experimenting with magic in different ways, and Leigh's books genuinely sound like great novels. Too bad they're ALL magical, no matter how innocent the intentions.
The fourth book, Haunting Leigh, has us finally ready to go to the Halloween gala, which has been teased since book 2. But first, problems occur. It was really fun actually having Leigh doing her job as a school teacher. There's a lot of adorable scenes in the classroom before the main plot really kicks in. We get to see a lot more of the magical world in this book with spirits and mediums being the main focus. "The power of catnip compels you!" Also, is it weird that I loved seeing Leigh angry? It's so different to what we've seen from her before. By the end of the book I was crying happy tears from all the cute feelings. Not just Leigh and Hunter, Luna too! She's just an awesome character, and her only line is "Meow."
The final book of this collection, Joyful Leigh, is so pure and filthy at the same time. I loved the whole idea of Thanks-hanukkah-mas and teacher-years. And then we had increasingly inappropriate situations with furry suits which just made me go into hysterics. AND THE MILF SPEECH! The writing is so clever and hilarious! The families had a bigger role in this book as they celebrate multiple holidays, and seeing their reactions to Leigh's magical craziness is fantastic. I'm so excited as Leigh and Hunter's wedding is teased. They've been through so much and I'm excited for them to get, what I hope will be, a happily ever after.
