Summary

Lady Sophie Windham has maneuvered a few days to herself at the ducal mansion in London before she must join her family for Christmas in Kent. Suddenly trapped by a London snowstorm, she finds herself with an abandoned baby and only the assistance of a kind, handsome stranger standing between her and complete disaster.

With his estate in ruins, Vim Charpentier sees little to feel festive about this Christmas. His growing attraction for Sophie Windham is the only thing that warms his spirits - but when Sophie's brothers whisk her away, Vim's most painful holiday memories are reawakened.

Critic reviews

"Supremely sexy, emotionally involving, and graced with well-written dialog, this gently paced, baby-centered story is a fascinating, enjoyable read and nicely connects with the author's earlier books." ( Library Journal)

Another fantastic book in this series

I liked all the characters and enjoyed meeting some of the previous ones. Excellent performance as well by the narrator. Usually love scenes can be a bit predictable and tedious, dragging on and on, but in this book they were presented in a very sensitive way. Now onto the next one in this series.

Unimaginative and predictable.

The Hero and Heroine have titles, so it starts with a lie on both sides.
A baby and weather is thrown into the mix to get them together.
He is continually aroused and constantly relieves himself, she is on heat. The Heroine is not a 'lady' so experience and availability; the sop to his conscious, despite the fact she has free range of a Duke's house.
The brothers turn up and the truth is revealed.
After that no imagination is needed, the child is use as a prop and his honour means marriage.
Naturally trauma on both sides is thrown in, child part of it, result predictable. So much for being brought up within a privilege, loving family.
