Summary

Sylvie and Carl have been friends since they were tiny children. They've always played together, called each other boyfriend and girlfriend and, deep down, Sylvie has always believed that they'd end up married to each other. They even have a magical fantasy world that belongs to them alone.

But as they become older, things are starting to change. Sylvie would still rather spend all her time with Carl – but Carl has a new friend, Paul, who is taking all his attention. Now, Carl seems much less happy to be called Sylvie's boyfriend – and in a game of spin the bottle, he avoids having to kiss her. Sylvie can tell his feelings have changed and that their future together might not be so clear-cut after all. But can she guess at the true reasons behind it all?

Touching and compelling, Kiss is a delicately handled treatment of love and sexuality from award-winning author Jacqueline Wilson.

Good

Very good, the only issue I have is that it is very similar too Jacqueline's new book 'Love Frankie'.
Overall,y daughter really liked it, though would say that if you already have the book ' love Frankie' maybe get another book. Really liked the audio.

Written By Heterosexuals for Heterosexuals

Full of silly stereotypes with no insight into the struggles of coming out. Very disappointing.

loved this book!!!

I really loved this story, it's definitely one of my favourites of her books!

certain aspects I found a little confusing, particularly the ending! however it was an extremely enjoyable read and brought to light many of the issues that LGBT people have to face!

I really enjoyed the relationship Carl has with his mother, the way she handled everything was beautiful!

to the people saying it's too similar to Love Frankie or that it's full of stereotypes; yes it shares some things with Love Frankie, but it's not all that similar, the story is completely different just because the basis is similar doesn't make it the same.

also the point about stereotypes, yes it includes some stereotypes, but many are stereotypes for a reason!

as an LGBT person myself, I found Carl's arc very moving, and it made me all the more greatful for the love and support I have experienced!

truly a wonderful book, would love to see a sequel where Carl can finally be happy, but the way things ended works well.

Amazing 💕

I love all the characters especially Carl. He would be a great best friend to have! I also like Sylvia and Marnda ☺ if you already read love Frankie it's quite similar to this book but I think you can still read them both.love Frankie was my favourite book by JW so that's why I really liked this book so much! So if you liked love Frankie and sad your done reading it this book is like it but a slitley difernt version of it. The narration really makes the book ☺ I love JWs voice. I definitely recommend this book for age 10+ as their are a few swear words and some older children's contents if you know what I mean. Amazing great book 💕 loved it. I
