Ava Jones has settled for a life that she's not sure she wants anymore, but won't admit it. Her best friend Erica Davidson talks her into taking a break on the Isle of Wight. Her days on the island are spent thinking things through and arguing with Morgan, whom she hates on principle. Is it so wrong for her to want a life that follows the script of an honest-to-god romance film?

If you enjoy short and sweet modern romances, this may be the book for you. Ava and Morgan's story is pretty succinct, lacking in unnecessarily frilly details (which is great) but with enough meat to make a fun story. In a single sentence, this little nugget of a book is about a holiday meet that lacks the usual instant burning attraction that goes wonderfully right, rather than terribly wrong.
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
I haven't listened to many audiobooks thus far, and even fewer novellas. But this was quite entertaining.
I wouldn't change the story itself, but the character of Erica irritated me.
The narrator is very fluid and has mastered many characters, and is able to articulate and emote various sentiments as called for in the text. Very well done.
Where Choices Take You
"Just Like in the Movies"
Short story with a lot of story line going on. Loved Ava. Even as undecided as she was, she still knew what she wanted out of life
Ava has been content but knowing things were missing from her life and her relationship. A vacation changes all that and gives some kind of contentment.
"Cute Short Story"
This is a short sweet romance with an interesting story line and characters.
The narrator did a good job bringing the story to life. Her accent was easy to understand and she kept a good pace.
Ava and Erica go to spend 10 days at the beach. Ava meets Morgan and they get off on the wrong foot.
**This audiobook was provided free of charge in exchange for my honest unbiased opinion**
I liked this short audiobook a lot, but it is not in my top 10 stories as I have a big library. This was my first listen of a book with British humor. Also, I prefer a longer book (this was about 1 1/2 hours compared to most books in my library which are over 8 hours)
I liked in when Ava met Morgan at the bookstore in the beginning. She wasn't looking to meet anyone and initially clashed like oil and water
Ava and Morgan were the main characters of this book, but I liked her friend Erica
I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher or narrator.
"this had a very pride & prejudice feel"
OK, so you know that confrontation scene in Pride & Prejudice where Mathew Mcfaden chases Kiera Nightly to tell her he loves her against his better judgment.? That was my favorite part and listening to this reminded me of that very scene. So yeah, for me this audio book was "just like in the movies" . I did enjoy the narrator but she spoke very fast but this is something i will listen to again. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.
"Delightful Cozy Short Story"
Just Like in the Movies was a fun romantic short story. I enjoyed listening to this. I liked the characters, especially the protagonist, Ava. A vacation at the beach on the Isle of Wight was enough to give her pause to rethink her life. I'd like to listen to more books by M.B. Feeney.
Leanne Yau has a beautiful voice. I love her accent and she narrates flawlessly. Her pace is perfect and easy to follow and the characters are all distinct. An overall wonderful listen.

"A Vacation from Love"
Two ladies decide to spend 10 days at the beach together. The main character Ava leaves her live-in boyfriend behind. She has not really been "in love" with him the entire time. While on vacation she meets a new guy who comes across as rude and arrogant. However, she feels something deep inside that stirs up feelings that are new to her.
This story is really not full of romance but it is full of reality. it's a fun story that is a short listen. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. Thanks to the amazing narra Leanne. Thanks so much!
this book was shorter than I like but if you are looking for something quick this is for you. the story was good, narration was good, and I enjoyed all of it.
