Mystery writer Bethany Lange wasn't prepared for the twisting emotions that left her breathless the moment she laid eyes on folk singer sensation Ali Hart. Of course she was flat on her back and looking up and backward at the gorgeous singer, but that didn't stop her body and heart from bursting into a kaleidoscope of want, need, and lust. Scared at the intensity of her feelings, Bethany does everything she can to avoid Ali at Camp Jacomo, the camp designed specifically for children of lesbian and gay families where Bethany volunteers every summer. The camp director convinces the hottest singer at the moment, Ali Hart, to spend a week teaching the children music - to everybody's delight except Bethany's. On her last day at camp, Ali approaches Bethany with an offer of friendship, but they both know it's the prelude to something bolder. Should Bethany take the risk? Does she really believe she can balance her quiet, private life with Ali's outspoken one?

There is something missing from this story and that would be any kind of jolt of interest.
it is my intention to ignore this author based on her novels being repetitive and shallow. the same reason I NEVER buy anything by Radclyffe, there are way more excellent original authors with interesting books that capture ones imagination and are a satisfying read..
"Super sweet story..."
Super sweet story with a lot of heat. Would highly recommend if you are hunting for a great romance story.
"it's Ok if you like first person told stories of a day in the life of Walflower neurotic person"
Jolt is told in first person by this wallflower neurotic mystery writer who at the beginning of the book is working at a special camp for gay teens or kids of gay couples the boy isn't to clear on that. Anyway our first person then receives a JOLT when she falls off a fence, and sees new arrival whose name I just forgot, but she she is a world famous singer-songwriter and the most beautiful woman on earth. So of coarse the lead/ mystery writer spends half the book avoiding the singer, the waste more time playing it cool, then in a jealous fit over missed signals and things
Good read. Nice story. Well read. It feels like KB knows of what she speaks.
"A Long Slow Tedious Trip To Nowhere"
When a story begins with a supposedly intelligent human being believing without question, information about a celebrity gleaned from gossip pieces on the internet you know they've stretched any sense of realism to the breaking point. When there is chapter after chapter of a 27 year old female avoiding the opportunity to get busy with a beautiful female celebrity then you've broken it entirely. Suspension of reality is a part of any fictional reading; some books are well written or humorous enough to make that happen; this one wasn't. The interminable pace of this audiobook ended up being too much for me to continue listening to even though I was hiking through a beautiful portion of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This particular selection may appeal to members of AARP but for a young lesbian it was more irritating than a full Brazilian.
"One, Two , Three Jolts!"
This story was entertaining. Bethany was a little too neurotic for me, but it didn't take away too much from the story. I would recommend this book. Narrator wasn't too bad. Ali was my favorite character. I would have liked some lyrics for the song she sang to Bethany.
"Sweet Love Story by Kris Bryant"
This is Kris Bryant's debut novel. I would compare it to the author's second novel, "Whirlwind Romance." Both are excellent love stories, with the author's signature writing style shining through. She gives the reader unique and interesting characters, a realistic and dramatic plot, great relationship development, hot steamy sex, and fun quirkiness in individual personalities.
I had many favorite scenes which varied throughout the story. Overall, I think my favorite part of this romance novel was how the author painted the characters and the development of their relationship.
Beth and Ali are both interesting characters, with unique traits, differences, and backgrounds. I think dinner with either or both of them together would be fun.
Jolt is a fantastic and original love story and believe it or not is Kris Bryant's debut novel. Excellent! I love the characters, and the development of their relationship throughout the story. I am hooked on Bryant's style of writing and will be sure to read all other novels published by this author. I can't wait for "Taste"!
"Listen to or Read - Great Book!"
Sensual, emotional, heartfelt
The build-up of the relationship between the characters. The main character, Bethany, struggles with trust and fights the obvious attraction to Ali. Their relationship is explosive emotionally and physically.
Yes, but 7 hours is a long time. It was easier to read.
the start is confusing main character spends way to much time in her head and I almost stopped listening then it got better but not a fan of the ending at least do an epilogue.
