Jaguin is one of the finest trackers on Valdier, where females are few and true mates almost non-existent. He has never been successful at finding his true mate, and that failure is eating away at him and his dragon. Even his symbiot is feeling the strain as the centuries crawl by with no end to the emptiness gnawing away at them. But hope flares with the discovery of a species that is compatible with their own.
Jaguin is rewarded for his help in tracking one of the Lord's stubborn females with the promise of a chance to find his own true mate on the planet called Earth.
Sara Wilson is a botanist working with Columbiana University. Her love for plants and their potential for medicinal uses consume her life. She feels confident she is on the verge of a breakthrough when she is kidnapped by a cartel boss with revenge on his mind - a revenge that not only comes close to taking her life, but that will change it forever.
After a fruitless search for his mate, Jaguin accepts one last assignment to guard Lord Creon's mate, Carmen, during a mission to seek justice against the man who brutally murdered her husband back on Earth. Instead, he finds his true mate in the man's cruel clutches, barely clinging to life. His only thought is to spirit her away, where he and his symbiot can heal her and his dragon can claim her.
The scars left during her captivity run deep inside Sara as she struggles to come to terms with her new life. She is no longer on Earth, but the fear and terror still haunt her. She needs time to discover who she is again and whether this is a life she can accept.
Can Jaguin's love heal the scars on the inside, or will his true mate believe she has traded one monster for another?

"A VERY enjoyable story!"
I very much enjoyed the story... it is sometimes difficult to achieve comfort when one has severe arthritis... the night can be quite long... the ability to "listen" to a wonderful
story such as this really enables one to focus on something other than their pain! Thank You for making it happen for me! MORE PLEASE!!
"Read before Ha'aven's Song"
Lovely little story in the series. Not the sexiest, most action, etc., just lovely. Sara is one of 2 women rescued when Carmen went after the bad guy from her past. Brenin is voice of series, though this is not his finest work. Worth it to complete the series.
I like most S E Smith books but this one was extra good. It just tugged at my heart that little extra bit.
"JAGUIN AND SARA - SURVIRAL OF THE HEARTS!"
AS I ONLY HAVE AUDIO.....THEN YES.
ALL THE DRAGON LORDS OF VALDIER BOOKS. ALWAYS EXCITING AND HEARTFELT TENDER MOMENTS.
WELL THERE WERE MANY, BUT THE ONE I LOVED MOST WAS WHEN SARA TURNED INTO HER DRAGON FOR THE FIRST TIME. I ALSO LOVED JAGUIN'S MOTHER.
YES, I AM AFRAID THEY ALL ARE. BUT LIFE HAS A WAY OF SAYING NO WAY JOSE!
S.E. SMITH - KEEP THOSE STORIES COMING!!
"Love this storyline"
Jaguin is the perfect gentleman and I'm glad he's Sara's mate. Can't wait for the next phase of the journey!
"Another great dragon lords book!"
I really enjoyed this audiobook! The characters and story line were interesting. I liked the narrator too.
"IT was a good book"
This was the second time I read this book. Or I should say the first time I read and the second I listened to it. I would like to answer the questions you asked the first in this review of Jaquin's love. I have read all of the books in this series and have loved each one. All unique and great in their stories. To answer the first question, I most definitely would read the next book in this series. And can't wait for, I hope will be the book about the first set of twins. As far as David Brenin as the narrator he is good for male role but the female in this book was not very good. It got better towards the end though. The second question, no definitely did not turn me off from reading more in this genre. The third question, yes I would listen to David again , but not if the female has an accent. He over did the accent for most of the book accept towards the end he got better. I would not cut any scenes, but maybe change the scene when they first made love. When he first bit her, then she all of sudden threw him on his back and was the aggressor, just seemed seemed wrong . I only say this because of her background, and what had happened to her. The other scene I would change was the time she offered to give him a lap dance, I would have taken that part out. But overall I loved both characters and the overall story line, but the story seemed to be too rushed. I can't get enough of the three worlds you brought together, and waiting, trying to be patient, for the next book.
"Typical love story"
I wouldn't want to try another book from this author because the romance from this book is so cliche it ruined the story and future possibility of me reading the sequel.
This book has not turned me off from other books in this genre due to the fact that I read another book of similar genre that was fantastic.
The cliched romance of the main characters. Also how the female lead out of know where wants to make out with the male lead in the "garden" on the ship. She is a traumatized woman!
I like the overall story, it's different and shows a new type of perspective to the fantasy world. However, the romance between the main characters were just overly cliched I almost vomited.
