Summary

Have you ever wondered if you made the right choices? Harper Clarke has....

Harper reminds me of many of the women I've known and cared about over the years. Now that her children are close to flying the nest, she is looking across the table and thinking, Is this really how my life was meant to be?

As women, we make sacrifices for our children, for our husbands and for our families. Some are worth it, and some we may regret. But there comes a point when it's time to follow our own hearts. This is the story of what happens when we do.

It probably helped to have been round the block a few times when it came to creating Harper, but I think her story can be enjoyed whoever you are and whatever your age. I hope you'll grow to love her, as I have - and to laugh and cry with her on her journey. Lots of love, Denise xx

Briiliant

Would you listen to If They Could See Me Now again? Why?

Yes to take it all in again, well written, they way it flits between past and present is done very well.

What did you like best about this story?

Harper's character is down to earth trying to live in a "keep up with the jones" world, portrays how sometimes women can lose themselves when trying to keep everyone else happy. Aaron her husband is a

Which character – as performed by Denise Welch – was your favourite?

Harper - and Harpers Dad, totally down to earth, real life people

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

When Harper really realises what a git Aaron is after the incident with Georgie.

Any additional comments?

only small gripe, the voice of Aaron was so annoying, but so was he was a character so it worked in some ways lol and can imagine it is hard for a female narrator to try and pull off a guys voice - fab job though, loved it

Great read

Found myself wanting to shake Harper sometimes but like many women, she wanted it to work so stayed thinking it would get better, but once a bully always a bully. Got quite emotional listening to her husband belittle and berate her. Let's hope anyone reading this book will take strength from it. Loved it!
