"Love the new twist to Cyborgs!"
SO.....this one was a good one... I love the twist, instead of Cyborg falling for a human... Nice... I really can't wait for Jean's book... I hope it's next! And the mention of SKY... boy.... I can't wait to get to his book either...
Blackie was not my favorite Cyborg...especially what he try to do to Ice's girl... But all of that gets explained in this book...which only added to my forgiveness of Blackie's misdeeds... And Zorus...boy what a turn around! This was a great addition to my favorite Cyborg books!
Narration was perfect... Kennedy really has taken charge of these book...
Great sale, credit or buy... Very enjoyable!
"Once I got beyond the title---YOWZA!!!"
Even one of the worst characters of the Cyborg series so far...Blackie...deserves love. I cringed at his name back in some of the first books of the series where he's introduced, and cringed even more at how he was with women and his overall mean attitude. I couldn't believe he would have a story of his own! I certainly wasn't interested, but, I knew that Laurann Dohner would have to come up with someone really special with the capacity to love even the coldest and cruelest of Cyborgs, and that could only be the love that man's best friend can give you! Eve, a canine/human, meets Blackie as a prisoner before the Cyborgs free themselves, and totally bonds with him. Fast-forward to present day, and the two reconnect, opening a whole new world for Blackie--one that includes humility, decency, emotion, and understanding. It's awesome that even in an erotic romance novel there's a moral to the story!
These Cyborg stories are very much 'on the nose', and that's one of the things I love about the series. The misunderstandings between the characters have me in stitches, and the love scenes have me panting! Blackie and Eve fall head over heels HARD for each other, and although I kind of hated him in some of the previous stories he's appeared in, this book redeems him completely. If you're a fan of fantasy and paranormal erotic romance, the Cyborg series should be in your library for sure. Keep 'em coming Laurann!
"Cyborg Yummyness that I have Missed !!"
Haunting Blackie is book eight in the series.. It tells the story of Blackie, a Cyborg who's toed the ruling Council line, even to terrorizing some of the human mates chosen by his fellow Cyborgs without questions. But what is his back story... Laurann weaves a compelling tale and soon we're all rooting and chearing for Blackie, whose heart might not be quite as dark as it first appeared...
When Blackie and his fellow Cyborg rescue Eve and her sister they discover not only another race they didn't know existed (the canine one), but also a cover-up that resonated to the highest level of the Council...
Along the way there is lots of steamy Cyborg sex, but in this story that's not the big draw for me, Instead it's seeing that hardhearted and cold Cyborg "Blackie" encounter the woman who's haunted his dreams (and he hers). Their story is a 10+ keeper and i thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it....
With Mindy Kennedy's wonderful narration all of our favorite characters and a few new on'es come to life... I Love and have missed the Cyborg series and hope there are many books to come.. :)
Laurann Dohner always writes excellent books with very few exceptions. Highly recommend them to other readers!
"Cyborg Seduction Book 8 is a Yes"
Dohner's books in this series have gotten tighter & since Stealing Coal, the female leads are way more interesting & definitely people I'd like to know. Her intros of the Markus Models & the Canines add interesting story arcs. My only beef now is I would like to have a few more cameos of previous characters to get a snapshot of their lives. Yes, Kennedy is the voice of this series. It works.
"Love, Love, Love the book! Winner!"
Did I mention I love this book?! Outstanding job Mindy Kennedy! Spot on! This series just gets better and better! Different twist and turns. Laurann Dohner did it again. Audible, I have to give you points for recognizing a great book series and matching it with a great Narrator. Thanks! By the way, if you are thinking of buying this book, start with the series " New Species" then this series. You can start with this series, any of the book are stand alone, but, starting from the first just makes it fit together better.
"4 out of 5 Licks"
Haunting Blackie is the eighth Cyborg book, and I really recommend they be listened to in order, it was nice to get more of the background on the whole escape from Earth part. I also loved some of the new twists added to the series.
Blackie and Eve were refreshing because there wasn’t a lot of time spent trying to convince Eve to love a Cyborg. She knows what he is, and is all on board with loving him. It was nice to Blackie fall in love, especially since in past books he’s been a bit of a jerk.
With the new twists, the story keeps up the same fast pace I’ve come to expect from the series, and I also loved the little bit of a secondary romance between Gene and Eve’s sister Danica. Eve gets major points for being a seriously capable and strong heroine. Possessive and very Alpha males than Blackie is a great hero.
This is definitely a great story, and I will keep an eye out for the next Cyborg story. I really love the futuristic and character driven stories.
Mindy Kennedy's delivery of the story was outstanding.
"4 Haunting Blackie Stars"
I liked hearing about how the Cyborg’s escaped Earth in the last 2 books.
Blackie wasn't a character I was really looking forward to but his story most defiantly needed to be told.
Eve and her sister helped Cyborg’s escape and in return they lost a lot. So I don’t know maybe because of that I was surprised at how much trust Eve had in the Cyborgs but her sister had a healthy dose of what the heck.
Blackie and Eve had the connection from the get go, there relationship bloomed fast and bright. I was happy for them but I want to know more about the sister now. Or even Sky. But it doesn't look that there books are coming any time soon and that’s ok I guess.
On to the next!
Again Mindy is awesome for this series she does a fabulous job with these characters.
*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*
Yes Lauraan NO Mindy Kennedy. Narrator ruined the story, male voices were down right painful
Weak story line
Could not finish, got half way thru and had to stop. Narrator terrible and story line weak
"A must read! Excellent addition to the series!"
I do not understand the bad reviews to be honest, I am glad I decided to try it out. Blackie and Eve have a very nice story, even the though maybe there could have done better with some more action it was always entertaining. It clarifies and justifies Blackies actions in previous books. It's all about following your instincts to love, and second chances. :)
