Publisher's Summary

Sabine Crowley is adjusting well to her new life at Willow Creek Manor with Remy by her side. That is, until she finds out some devastating news from Bastian. Has Remy been lying all along about his feelings for her? Had she been a fool to believe he really could love her? Remy has been accused of trying to leave Sabine and his responsibilities to Bastian behind.

He's been locked up and drained of his lifeblood to the point that he has no memory of what has happened since just after Sabine officially became "his". In a house full of vampires, not being paired has put Sabine into quite the predicament. Luckily for her, she's managed to make a couple of powerful allies who are more than willing to help her out in any way they can. It's up to Sabine to figure out the truth about Remy and how the secret of Willow Creek can help or hinder her quest to be free.

    "Better and better..."

These characters are fabulous and I love the way this story has developed. Love the audio versions - I think the narrator does an amazing job with Remy and Sabine... and I can't wait for book three. Book two is a real roller coaster - and I found myself unable to put it down towards the last few chapters. Do yourself a favor and try out Willow Creek...Just when I thought the vampire craze was tapped out - this gave me characters I've cared about more than in any other series.

    "Love this series!"
What did you love best about Haunting?

I love these characters - Beanie and Remy are a fantastic pair and this second installment in the series did NOT disappoint. By the end of it I was on the edge my seat.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Haunting?

The end... I was sooooo stressed out!! Can't wait to read book three.

What does Joel Froomkin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Personally I adore his performance. You become really used to his style and his characterizations are nuanced, specific, and full of wit. The way he voices Remy is pretty damn irresistible. After listening to the first two books, I can't imagine a better fit.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The whole thing is kind of a roller coaster... I got really intrigued by how the author was going to resolve the drama.

    Any additional comments?

Give this series a try - you won't be sorry. Stephanie Summers writes great characters, great dialogue and finds a really interesting spin on the vampire lore. Plus there are some super steamy scenes to boot.

"Great #2 in the series is a thrilling page turner."
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely - I think this series is so enjoyable. I love the characters, love the steamy romance, and love the relationship. Summers is a great storyteller and has created an amazing anti-hero and heroine in this series. The characters have complexity, depth, humor and the climax to the book had me gasping out loud.

What other book might you compare Haunting to and why?

Pretty obviously Twilight... I also loved that series. But I actually think Summers is a more skillful writer and I feel like Remy is a really layered and fascinating character. Plus, he's crazy hot! And for those who always found Bella kind of a wishy washy heroine - Sabine is a pro-active, strong female character that is worthy of a series.

Have you listened to any of Joel Froomkin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes - I think he's very versatile. I think his portrayal of Remy is amazing, and he voices Sabine believably without going so far with a female character that it's annoying from a male author.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes - the last chapters had me totally stressed out and I can't wait to read book three.

    Any additional comments?

Hopefully book three will be on audible soon!

"An addictive series with fabulous characters."
Where does Haunting rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of my favorites - i love the writing, love the characters and i think the narrator is fabulous.

What other book might you compare Haunting to and why?

I think it's smarter and sexier that Twilight personally... Beanie is a brilliant character and Remmie is just about my favorite vamp character ever. This episode in the series had me turning pages a mile a minute and at one point I actually exclaimed out loud. For an indy author, Summers is at the top of her game.

Which character – as performed by Joel Froomkin – was your favorite?

Remmie - absolutely. He's sexy as hell and this book really brings out depth and layers to the character. I'm really excited that Summers has written a prequel for the character that gives us more backstory.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes. If you like vampire fiction for grownups you will really fall for these characters. I can't wait to find out what happens next and I'll certainly be a long-term fan of the series.

    "Good"

This continues where the fist book leaves off. It was good but not as suspenseful as the first book. There is almost no sexual tension & the story seemed to unravel at a slower pace too. It ends with an obvious open ending to Segway into the next unreleased book.

    "THEIR ROLLER-COASTER JOURNEY CONTINUES"

Sabine (Beanie) and Remy are happily married now but when Remy comes up with a secret plan it backfires on them big time because when Bastian finds out he takes, and makes, some evil plans to get what he wants..... Sabine. It lands Remy in a dank and dark dungeon drained, close to death, alone and losing his memories little by little. Bastian has lied to Sabine telling her that Remy has left her and the silly woman believed him..... but finally she puts 2 + 2 together an happily comes up with the right answer. However, she can't help him alone and it's also going to take time, patience, endurance, lies and magic to free her love.

This book also had a Ghost, a Shapeshifter and a Witch and was full of mysteries, misadventures and magic. As well as drama, angst, suspense and twists there are a few new characters who all become involved in either keeping the lovers apart or hopelessly try to bring them back together again. The romance becomes taught due to the lies, insecurities and the lost memories but there are a few tender moments as Sabine tries desperately to save her Vampire but all Remy can think of is how he can possibly protect and save his Beanie. Then, at the last minute, their wishes and plans come true and Remy escapes.... but it comes at a price - and that price breaks Sabine's heart, turns her world upside down..... and much much more.

Told mainly from Sabine's POV and, once again, Joel Froomkin's narration was just perfect...... American, European, Scottish, male or female he does them all with ease and makes this listen come alive.

Worth a credit? Yes, but at just a little over $10 I just bought it and happily saved my credit for a costlier listen. But I have to say that I'm beginning to get annoyed that some books get split like this instead of just delivering 1 whole totally finished book for only 1 credit like so many other Authors/Publishers manage to do.
