"Lucas & Maxi"
I really liked this storyline. Loved Lucas & Maxi together! The sexy times were molten hot!!!! So happy that they ended up together like they always should have been. Things were a little rocky at times but it all worked out.
Another great book in this series!
"Standalone or Part of a Series"
Great standalone but also part of a series book. You don't need to listen to the series to understand though. Another great storyline with twists and unexpected moments
This book had my heart racing from the passion, suspense and feels! Heartbreaking, heartwarming and intriguing. A great story!
This is my first book by Carly Phillips and I can truly say I loved it. I'm also pretty new to audio books but this one I finished in one sitting the story line and Sophie Eastlake's narration just hooked me immediately.
Lucas and Maxie were childhood best friends. When Lucas leaves for college he returns to find Maxie married but that doesn't stop the love they feel for each other and years later when Maxie really needs someone he's the one person she turns too. Will they be able to overcome the hurt from their pasts and will it finally enable them be together?
Definitely a book I will be recommending and I'll also be going back and reading Going Down Easy (Billionaire Bad Boys 1)
5 star review Going Down Fast (Billionaire Bad Boys #2) by Carly Phillips
Carly Phillips is a new author to me and be assured I will be checking out her other books. What’s a woman to do when her world comes crashing down around her? That’s the situation Maxie Sullivan faces when tragedy strikes, who can she turn too? Instinctively she knows it can only be one man, the man she has always secretly been in love with, Lucas Monroe.
Lucas has always been in love with Maxi, but due to interference, she is the one woman he cannot have, the one woman who is off limits. When circumstances change and Maxie’s life is thrown into turmoil, she has no choice but to ask Lucas for help.
Will Maxie and Lucas be able to overcome their past, can they trust enough in their love to make a life together, r will th past come back to haunt and destroy them? Lucas will do whatever it takes to keep Maxie safe and I will admit I ally fell for him.
I have to say I listened to this book on audible and thoroughly loved it. The story was well written and certainly an emotional roller-coaster, which touched on several issues that have affected me personally.
I admire the way Ms. Phillips is not afraid to include the realities of life. In Going Down Fast she tackles the issue of bullying both in school and college and the repercussions that can and sadly often does occur with great compassion.
Cannot wait for book number three in the series. I have no idea why it has taken me so long to Carly Phillips, but I am now going to bump her other books up my extremely long list of TBR’s.
"Tears and cheers!"
Wonderful story with great characters. I listened in one sitting - just had to keep going. It had everything I like in a book - good plot, some suspense, romance, a twist or two or surprises and of course a wonderful ending. Will definitely listen to more by this author!
"Going down fabulous"
This is the second book/audiobook in this series and is absolutely fabulous. Lucas and Maxie are perfect together. This is a friends to lovers story and you are always cheering for them but with so many twists and turns and so many people that it looks like are against Lucas and Maxie can they really end up together. Carly Phillips masterfully ties in many characters from other books but you haven't had to have read them to understand. Carly Phillips keeps you wanting more in this book and I can't wait for the next installment.
The narration is again top notch by Sophie Eastlake who keeps you interested and wanting more.
