I am a Wife, a Mum and a Grandma. I am also strong willed and wilfil at times. I have worked all my life and drempt for wining the lottery
I thoroughly enjoyed this complex action packed story. I loved the characterisation of Shane and Josie from their whirlwind marriage and Shane's amnesia though a story which kept me guessing as it developed. A strong love story plus battles and intrigue. Definitely a good one. I intend to follow this series.
"Great Beginning! Anticipating the second one."
I liked the characters. The heroine was strong without being a She-ra. Don't you hate whiny heroines? She was smart and likeable. The hero was strong without being cold and uncaring. You really emphasized with the hero's childhood. This series reminds me of Christine Feehan's GhostWalker series. The series has action and an intriguing plot. Kept my interest enough that I looked for the second in the series. (Not on Audible yet :( ) I am putting the book in my wish list so that I can remember to check for the second book.
Rebecca Zanetti was nice enough to include an excerpt from the second book in this one.
I also liked the voices. Karen White did an excellent job!
This one was worth my credit :)
"Wow, what a Fabulous Talent Rebecca Zanetti Is :)"
OMG Forgotten Sins by Rebecca Zanetti pulled me immediately, from the very first few sentences, and never let me go till the very end... Action, Suspense and a fabulous romance...what a great combo... and all narrated perfectly by the talented Karen White, made this book a must listen...
Suspense/Thriller/Romance. In fact, I would even suggest it to some straight suspense readers that I know because the romance was really balanced with the action. I liked the idea of a secret program (evil of course) that trained men so well that they were equipped to fight back. This truly is one of those novels where you get some answers but are compelled to listen on because the overall story doesn't play out to the end... No cliffhanger but you are left with a sense of intrigue that will have you drooling, counting down to the next book...
Josie - She was most definitely the kind of fish that would swim upstream instead of going with the flow. That being said, she was pretty self-sufficient and I liked her spunk! Shane is who I fell for hard. Even in his memory lapsed brain, I loved his Alphaness coupled with his Tenderness, such a Hot mix :) . He truly made me swoon and I think maybe Josie’s headstrong behavior (aka the ability to get into life threatening situations) is something he needed in a woman. Someone a little fearless but still needed a hero... God i hope the next book is released on Audible soon !!... :)
"A HIGH OCTANE GRIPPING ROMANCE"
As this action packed thrill a minute story starts to unfold you're drawn into the bitter-sweet romance between petite Accountant Jodie and her long lost husband of 2 yrs Shane who, along with his three brothers, have been genetically modified to become super elite soldiers with 'special abilities' (slight paranormal feel). Although suffering from amnesia as soon as Shane and Jodie meet the sexual chemistry is still there and, as next of kin, Jodie is responsible for him but she is unaware of Shane's background and doesn't realise just what she's letting through her door.... think Tom Cruise on steroids.
Then the action begins... with thrills, suspense, nail-biting twists, danger, great secondary characters, heartbreak, tension, evil villains from a secret Military Agency, sex and an intense emotional romance. Testosterone filled uber Alpha Shane is possessive, jealous, overbearing and obsessive but he's also gifted, funny, loving, protective and very sexy but with flashbacks of violence slowly returning his memory he knows he doesn't deserve Jodie but he just can't give her up. I had a love/hate relationship with Jodie as she was intelligent and strong one minute then sooo dumb the next but thankfully the storyline and Shane more than made up for it.
Worth a credit? It was total fantastical fiction but I found it thrilling, gripping, romantic and sexy and I couldn't stop listening from start to finish so YES very creditworthy and I'm looking forward to the next brother's story.
"It Has It All"
This book is going on my re-read/re-listen list. It was that good. This was the first book by this author that I'd read/listened to and I'm looking forward to many more. I like romance books that have other things going on in the story besides the H/H falling in love and I like books with a good amount of loving sex in them. This book covered all that and then some. I was on the edge of my seat from the action and my heart was warmed by the romance. What more could ask for?
Both of the main characters we good strong characters. In fact, all the characters were good. I'm not fond of stories where one or both of the leads are whiney and/or needy.
I've listened to other books read by Karen White. She is very very good. She is one of those narrators that you would read/listen to a book solely because she's the one reading/performing it.
This was one awesome book! Action packed with a deep storyline... Great smexy time. I totally love the fact that Shawn didn't have his memories in the beginning... It was such a well worthy listen.
I totally like the narrator too. This was my first time listening to Karen White, but Wow.. her male voices were superb! There were so many different male characters, and she used a different voice for each one.. I loved it...
Great credit, as this book is kinda pricey.. Good sale... maybe not a buy, unless you plan to invest into the complete series.
"One Sexy Audiobook"
FORGOTTEN SINS is a unique blend of romantic suspense, military thriller, and paranormal—to be honest, I’ve never listened to anything quite like it. I was reluctant to add this title to my to-be-read pile at first because I tend to stay away from straight-up contemporary, and the amnesia story line was a bit of a turn-off. However, Rebecca Zanetti’s beautiful writing style, and Karen White’s enchanting performance quickly sold me on the merits of this genre blending audiobook, and the smexy SIN BROTHERS definitely helped to further seal the deal. This high octave listen will have you staying up well past your bedtime, and the sex scenes will also ensure that your partner won’t be getting much sleep either.
The plot line of this novel is masterfully crafted; I enjoyed watching the various threads unfold, and I loved how just when you think you’ve got it all figured out, the author surprises you. I went from thinking that Shane’s reappearance was to blame—to suspecting Josie’s clients, coworkers, and kinda boyfriend—to government conspiracies, and back again. Zanetti does a superb job of keeping readers guessing up until the very end, and the way that it all comes together is exquisite. I found myself enjoying the amnesia angle way more than expected because it helped to add an extra level of mystery to the story, and then there’s the characters… wow! I’ve only just met the SIN BROTHERS, and already I find myself hard-pressed to pick a favourite.
Shane Dean is the epitome of alpha male; he’s inhumanly strong and fiercely loyal, but there’s also an underlying sweetness to him that’ll make your panties melt. I loved how in spite of his memory loss, his body and soul still recognized Josie as his. Their love for one another is rooted at such a basic level that it seemed almost instinctual at times which made the love scenes doubly explosive. It takes a strong heroine to hold her own against one of the SIN BROTHERS, and Josie was certainly up to the task. Her character is obviously struggling with abandonment issues, and I liked how she consistently disproved the brothers’ opinions of her “soft” nature by kicking butt.
This was my first experience with Karen White as a narrator, and I have to say that I was impressed. It took a couple of chapters for her to get the pacing down pat, but once she found her rhythm there was no stopping her! White’s tone mirrored the author’s writing to perfection; she successfully conveyed all of the characters’ emotions in any given scene, and also managed to capture the sexiness of Dean’s Southern twang. Needless to say, I enjoyed the narrator’s delivery, and will definitely be listening to SWEET REVENGE instead of reading it. What an outstanding performance!
FORGOTTEN SINS is one smexy audiobook! Great story, suspenseful plot, and the man-candy—oh, la la!
"Just couldnt stop reading -finished in one day!"
Hot and Sexy
Shane is just so sexy and strong, a dream for every woman
Strong wording with lots of feeling, you thought you were right there with them going through what they were going through
Just cant wait for the next one to be released
"Protection in capital letters"
absolutely, as reader brings out the characters personality. Audible, get with the other stories of the brothers if Karen White is the reader.
this one had some new twists on he man type solider stories. Our heroine is just find too.
She was strong and not a wimp. Nice job on the story line which will make you want the other brothers stories as well.
I purchased due to ms white reading this story...once again, she delivers.
yes, the beginning will break your heart. The preview of next book will make you go a bit crazy as you will want to get Mattie's story like yesterday! "Trouble in capital letters"
"You can beat a good thing down"
The story line for this listen was good and I just know I would have enjoyed it more if the author hadn't created Josie out to be so stupid. I mean, really we've been given a brain with the capacity to reason out. Way too much doubt was placed in Josie's character. We, the general public, are just not that gullible.
However, this was entertaining if one is able to overlook so much unreasonable thinking on the female character, Josie.
The narrator does a decent job.
I did enjoy the suspense of this audio book and RZ did a very good job with that.
So, worth a credit? I've told you what I found annoying about this listen and if you're willing to overlook that aspect of the listen then it will be worth a credit to you.
It's a good storyline and the reader does a great job at the various character voices.
While I enjoyed the book, the lead female character Josie was a little too weak for me. For someone that grew up in the "system" she had no edge. Throughout the book Shane tells her he loves her but she still kept asking him if he did and asked his brother. She kept running away but not to the cops to her male friend. She also kept going with people she shouldn't and moaned about how she wished Zane would save her. Overall the plot, need to find out about the brothers and how they ended up the way the are was enough to keep me listening.
