For high-school senior Celeste Watkins, every day is a brutal test of bravery. And Celeste is scared. Alienated because she's too smart, her speech too affected, her social skills too far outside the norm, she seems to have no choice but to retreat into isolation. But college could set her free, right? If she can make it through this grueling senior year, then maybe. If she can just find that one person to throw her a lifeline, then maybe, just maybe. Justin Milano, a college sophomore with his own set of quirks, could be that person to pull her from a world of solitude. To rescue her - that is, if she'll let him. Together, they may work. Together, they may save each other. And together they may also save another couple - two people Celeste knows are absolutely, positively flat-out in love. Whether you were charmed by Celeste in Flat-Out Love or are meeting her for the first time, this book is a joyous celebration of differences, about battling private wars that rage in our heads and in our hearts, and - very much so - this is a story about first love.

Loved this book and I now love listening to this narrator bring it to life. I recommend that you listen to Flat Out Matt before this one.
This would be one of my fav contemporaries of all time. It has everything a contemporary book should have. And it is AMAZING!
This book is so funny and cute and adorable and emotional and thrilling and swoon-worthy. There are just so many scenes that I love so much. I just love every aspect from this book.
Both of the author & audiobook narrator captured Celeste's voice perfectly. She was very sheltered in the beginning of the book and I love the way she tried to break out of her shell little by little until she became a full-fledged duckling(is this even the right metaphor?). There are definitely character growth for all of the characters in this book. And all of the characters were so lovely and there is not one thing I hate about the characters.
In all of the funny, cute, emotional scenes, ect. There's a message that Jessica Park is trying to deliver. This book is about acceptance towards yourself. Accept who you are, love who you are, be yourself, don't change yourself for society and I think she nailed that.
A must-read to every contemporary lovers. And just everyone, literally. Like, really. Read it. I guarantee you, there'll be no regrets involved by the end of this book.
"Love this Story with all my heart"
Loved the narration! It made me laugh and cry! Loved Celeste and Justin! 😻
Celeste is a character i course relate to, she was trying to change to fit in the world and then she understood she didn't need to change to be happy! Amazing story!!
I thought "Flat-Out Love" was a great read, and this book was even better! Celeste and Justin were both such lovable characters! I highly recommend this series! Movie rating would be PG-13 for some language and sexual situations.
This book .. This book .. oh god I'm still crying over it .. it was that GOOD, you simply must read it please, everything about this book is AMAZING I read it all in one sitting and couldn't stop until I finished it, Jessica Park is one of my favorite authors :D :D
"Lovely blend of fabulous and quirky."
Such an enjoyable listen.
I just feel like a bit better of a person after reading Flat-Out Celeste. Loved her take on life, love and hinges.
Tavia nailed this narration.
Full of joy, love and kindness. Two of the most unique characters. So special to me because I have a son with asperger's. Jessica Park and Tavia Gilbert nailed it.
so good! such a wonderful, lighthearted book to read in between angsty or more provocative reads to keep you grounded. as always, jessica park nails it with another great one!!
"Overly Saccharin and Nauseating"
Her inflections were at times hyperbolic, but so was the writing.
I enjoyed Flat Out Finn and thought it was an endearing story. This story is saccharin and had me cringing throughout with the over-the-top romance. It was as if a hormone-fueled teen with lofty romantic notions of love wrote it. I also thought the ending was annoying. They are FAR too young.
"O! M! G! This book is so AMAZING!!!!!!!"
This is my current top recommended audio book right now. I think everyone should listen to it...though I think you really need Flat Out Love first, you could go with this one and be ok. Celeste just really stole such a big piece of my heart in the first book and after this one, she's not giving it back.
California was a big moment, but Christmas time was great, too. Really all of this book was so great and I can't pick a favorite or most memorable.
Justin really showed who he was so many times, but when they were together in person, he always wowed me! I think he was such a good counterpart to Celeste and their "brokenness" really made them both come alive!
I laughed out loud so many times, but I also cried while listening. The narrator did a wonderful job of capturing the emotions in the book and I'm so thankful I was able to listen and share this story!
