Publisher's Summary

It's time to come home, Finn.

It's been seven years since Daniel Finley left his hometown in Florida for the hustle and bustle of Chicago's city life.

Since then, he's worked hard for his position at the prestigious law firm Leighton & Associates, even when it's caused distance and isolation from his family and friends. But that's all about to change.

On his 30th birthday, he receives the one thing he never dared hope for. Something that was promised to him years earlier - a note. One simple sentence from the man he's never been able to forget.

Six words will forever change the course of their lives.

Brantley Hayes has it all. Or so he thinks. When he first made the decision to take a job down in Florida, his family thought he was crazy. But, after years of living in the quiet beach town, he finally feels a sense of community. He's surrounded himself with friends who are like family, has a job he loves, and owns a spectacular beachfront property that is his sanctuary.

Yet he still feels unfulfilled, as if a piece of the puzzle is missing, and he knows exactly which piece it is. On an impulse, he follows through with a promise he made years earlier. A promise to call home the one he sent away.

Nothing is as simple as it seems.

After years of separation, the former lovers are reunited, but Brantley wasn't expecting to encounter the high walls now guarding Daniel's heart.

Daniel may not be the same person he was when he left, but he knows that the first step to healing is the note in his hand.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I had trouble figuring out whether I was listening to present day or flashbacks. Could have been a great story, but I kept losing interest.

If you could sum up Finley in three words, what would they be?

    Intricate, heartbreaking, sexy

What was one of the most memorable moments of Finley?

The whole damn book! Seriously, I'm hard pressed to pick just one. But the first time that Fin and Brantley are back together in the biblical sense was a thing of beauty.

What about Charlie David’s performance did you like?

Again, every damn thing. The way he can convey emotions and situations with the tone of his voice always amazes me and makes any book he's narrating just that much better.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

All of the above. You will experience the spectrum while listening to this. I laughed, cried, laughed while I cried, my heart broke more than once....but I assure you it's all worth it in the end.

    Any additional comments?

After listening to the Preslocke books I seem to be on an Ella Frank kick and I couldn't be happier. The woman knows how to write a book let me tell you. There was a minimal level of angst in this book that wasn't in the Preslocke books, but as the story unfolds you see that it plays into the story.

Daniel Finley fell in love with his Professor in college and had his heart torn to shreds when said Professor basically forced him to attend law school in Chicago. He swore he'd never be that vulnerable again... ever. But then a letter arrives just days before Fin's 30th birthday and his life is turned upside down all over again. Determined to hurt Brantley, to make him feel the pain Fin felt all those years ago when he made the choice to send him away, Fin flies home for the first time since he left.

Brantley doesn't recognize the man standing before him. He sees shadows of the man he never stopped loving, but there's a hardness to Fin's posture, darkness in the depths of his eyes and it's killing Brantley. The knowledge that he's the one that put that pain there.

One man determined to take what he needs and walk away without a care, one determined to bring the love of his life back home where he belongs... make for an explosive, intense and passionate two weeks. But who will come out on "top" in the end?

Wonderful, fantastic, amazing story. Buy it, listen to it, love it! You will, I promise.

    "Hot with sexy on top"

I'd read Finley on my kindle and I kind of fell in love with Ella Franks writing - it was the first of her books that I read...and now I'm desperately trying to find more reading time during the day so I can read everything she's written.

I love how Finley touches a few sore subjects like professor/student relationship, age difference and the need to find yourself before you can be a half of a relationship.

Having read the book before listening to the audio made it a bit weird for the first few pages as I had some sort of idea about the voices in my head...but then I settled in listening to the smooth and sexy voice of Charlie David. He brought a new dimension to the book and did a fabulous job.

***5 It’s always been you Stars***

Why did I wait so long to pick this one up?? And that question is actually being put towards the book and audiobook because I’m kicking myself in the ass for not picking up one sooner. I swear I had a dopey smile on my face for more than half of the time. The other parts were either feeling the need to go outside into the icky weather to cool off or doing the heavy sigh thing when Fin or Brantley were about do something I didn’t like, but all in all I just really enjoyed the hell out of their story.

It’s kind of funny when I typically do up a review I look at the MC’s separately and point out what I liked and didn’t like about them and then talk about their relationship but I find myself only seeing Fin and Brantley as a couple because they were just so damn good together. I loved how they teased and tested each other as they got to know each other again. And holy hell were they smoking hawt together and considering I was listening to it all go down, can we just say ‘Holy eargasm?!?’ And since this is a second chance story I knew going in that there would be drama, but it never got out of control. When they hit an emotional landmine they found ways of working through them, it wasn’t always instantaneous, but they didn’t let things fester and blow out of proportion. Like when Fin finally comes to terms with what Brantley did, it still hurt him but as he said “It was the best thing and worst thing” that Brantley could have done for him. In the end I loved how everything worked out with them. They got their HEA and

As for everything else in the story. I enjoyed the flashbacks though it did throw me a bit the first time it happened since there was no true indication they we’d gone back in time, but once I figured out that there were cues in the story to prepare me for the flashback, it made things flow a lot better. And as I am huge fan of well written secondary characters it comes as no surprise that I’m already in love with Jordan and Derek and can’t wait to either read or listen to their story!

    The Narrator: 5 Stars

This was my first time listening to Charlie David narrate a story and I have to be completely honest and say that I was skeptical when I listened to the sample on my laptop. I didn’t hate his voice, but I didn’t love it either, which is why I waffled over getting the audiobook for so long, but after only a few minutes in I really enjoyed listening to him and realized just how much better it is to listen when one is up close and personal i.e. using earpods. I thought he did a great job with giving each character their own voice, and I swear he had a lot of fun bringing Derek and Jordan to life. His tone and cadence were quite pleasing and I felt like he was enjoying bringing the story to life and not just reciting the words that were in front of him which made it fun for me to listen to.

    "Loved it!"
If you could sum up Finley in three words, what would they be?

    Hot Steamy Hot

What was one of the most memorable moments of Finley?

The strong connection between Finley and Brantley was obvious. Wasn't sure how the story would play out. Most memorable was when Finley quick his job and found Brantley waiting for him at his apartment.

Which character – as performed by Charlie David – was your favorite?

He did an awesome job with all the characters. He brought them all to life.

If you could take any character from Finley out to dinner, who would it be and why?

I would say Derek, he seemed the most fun.

    Any additional comments?

Loved that Logan and Tate showed up from themTrmptation series. My only complaint was I was sometimes confused by the flashbacks.

    "Her last series was better!"

I wasn't hooked by this new book/series. There was a lot of jumping back and forth and no real clear divide. Characters and plot were just so so.

It was nice to see the tie in to her last series and get a follow up on Logan and Tate.

"Charlie David's Sexy Voice brings FINLEY Alive!"
What did you love best about Finley?

I loved that the characters in this story were so beautifully developed,
and paired with the Sexy, Smooth Voice (LIKE BUTTA!) of Charlie David
really helped bring the story to life!
I also loved that this had a student/teacher aspect to it,
that is one of my favorite relationships to read about.

What other book might you compare Finley to and why?

I'm not in the habit of comparing books, they are all different and unique stories.
Ella Frank is hands down my favorite M/M author, so her stories are all ones that I know I will thoroughly enjoy. The writing just flows so well.

What does Charlie David bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I read this book before listening to it on Audible. I loved reading it, but Charlie David's performance of the characters really gave me a much deeper connection to each of them. He was perfect at bringing out each of these distinct personalities that made these characters so lovable. It didn't matter if it was an emotional scene, or a lighthearted one, Charlie David was able to perfectly portray the characters during the entire story!
For me, he was the perfect narrator for Finley!

Who was the most memorable character of Finley and why?

This is a very hard question. There really wasn't a character that wasn't memorable. The connection between Fin and Brantley, and the way the narrator brought out their intense chemistry made me love them both!

    Any additional comments?

For any M/M Audiobook lovers out there, I highly recommend Finley.
Ella Frank writes so brilliantly, it's effortless to read or listen!
Daniel Finley was first seen in her Temptation Series briefly,
and I was wondering if he'd get his own story.
I was so happy to see Charlie David was going to be the narrator, I've listened to him before, and he is so good at what he does! One of my favorites =D
I've heard that he is going to also narrate book #2 in the Sunset Cover Series, Devil's Kiss!
I can't wait to listen to him bring Jordan and Derek to life!!! That will be FUN!
