Reading out email discussion threads is boring
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
It would never be that, ever.
Has Fifty Shades of Grey put you off other books in this genre?
Yeap.
Have you listened to any of Becca Battoe’s other performances? How does this one compare?
Nope.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Fifty Shades of Grey?
The repetitive email discussion threads being read out INCLUDING the ruddy email signatures every time.

Never give in to the hype.
I need to have a quiet word with myself, I finally succumbed and bought the book that I had judiciously avoided for so long, why oh why did I do it.
Apart from the grammar, the story line is cringe worthy, the characters are ridiculous and to round it off I have never listened to such a poor narrator, it was dreadful.

The narrator's voice is so irritating and nasal.
I'm finding it hard to finish. I can't stand the narrator's irratating and nasal voice. The american accent I find hard work . I listen for about 5 minutes then I get to the point where I have stop that gastly noise. I probably will never finish. What a waste of money!

If she just chews her lip one more time...
I may just have to smack her in it!! Badly written, cheesy and as formulaic as Mills & Boon with sex added. I have no idea what all the fuss was about. Please spare me ... Id rather drink a cup of tea and watch paint dry than have to listen to any more of this.

So Disappointed
Hype that is all that made me seek this book out.
Disappointed with the narrator who was irritating and whiney.
I knew what to expect re content but to say I found the book boring and gave up half way through. I don't plan to finish it and instead plan to try to get an alternative boook in its place.
Bitterly disappointed and shall buy a book by another author who writes similar content but so much better than this.

50 Shades of Dull
The book is badly written, unimaginative and the best bit of publicty enhanced salesmenship since the emporers new clothes. The last time someone told me to breath was in a yoga class. Utter rubbish. Its about as sexually interesting as David Attenborough. At least his sex scenes are relevant. Why a 21 year old girl would be interested in a multi-milionaire with an endless supply of condoms beggars belief. Nothing sexy there. Safe sex and whiplash? There are so many hot flushes its almost menopause. Lastly the reader in this book is really not sexy. Dont waste your time or money.

Don't understand the hype.
Would you try another book written by E. L. James or narrated by Becca Battoe?
I would try neither. The book itself was flat and the narrator's voice was a headache.
What was most disappointing about E. L. James’s story?
I didn't understand at points. And found myself leaving the story for weeks at a time.

ridiculous
What disappointed you about Fifty Shades of Grey?
abysmal plot ( or rather lack thereof). sexy? not really, sex scenes very moderate - and bordering on ridiculous. Complete lack of character development - on both parts; dialogue stilted and boring. Laughable - in fact is should be classified as a parody - at least then folks wouldn't be disappointed!
What will your next listen be?
Lee child, I think....
Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Becca Battoe?
anyone with less whiny voice....
You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?
some descriptions are funny?

Not raunchy enough
The story itself was ok but thought the story teller could have done better to create different personalities for the characters plus not as raunchy as i expected.
