Life seems rosy for Jigger and his odd-but-loveable family, until he tries to scam a mysterious foreign millionaire, who arrives on the scene with plans to develop the area in unappealing ways. The folk of Cuddyford, native and otherwise, promptly close ranks.
Comic shenanigans, quirky characters, and sinister ploys abound, but it's Bert, Jigger's scruffy little hamburger-craving dog, who turns out to be the hero of the hour as the McClouds and their beloved Cuddyford teeter on the brink of disaster.

We listen to these stories on our regular travels across our wide open country side - frequently out of radio range!
The audio version is much better for me because we listened to it while driving in our wide brown land of Australia!
Without giving too much away, the ending is very satisfying after the excitement which led us to the that point.
We are certainly keen to listen to more of his work. We often search the performers as well as authors when seeking a new title. We have down loaded more of his performances than any other reader. His easy changes from Scottish to the other languages help to paint the chartacters clearly in our minds.
We had more laughs than anything else while listening - the characters, including the dog, and the baddies, were very entertaining!
Roll on, more of this series!
