Audible Editor Reviews

Expressive, by turns, of frustration, skepticism, desire, fear, passion, and satisfaction, Bethany Legare performs the second Phoenix Agency title from Desiree Holt, the woman USA Todayreferred to as, the "Nora Roberts of erotic romance". This seductive mix of action/adventure, supernatural abilities, and soul-shaking sex puts Dr. Mia Fleming's precognitive skills in the service of a besieged Carpenter Techtronics, and her body into an explosive chemistry experiment with Dan Romeo, the chief of the Phoenix Agency hired by Carpenter as a private security firm specializing in elite operations.

Publisher's Summary

Mia is skeptical about her precognitive skills, but her visions about Carpenter Techtronics are so vivid, she resorts to sending anonymous emails to the company. She's also having visions of a gorgeous man who arouses her so badly, she's satisfying herself just to get some relief. She's shocked when the man shows up in her office, sending her silent erotic messages.

Dan is helping his friend track down the person threatening his company. When he meets Mia, he has a hard time thinking about anything but indulging in off-the-charts sex with the intriguing woman - until bodies begin falling. As Mia's visions escalate, so does the explosive sex between her and Dan, as well as an unexpected emotional connection. When Mia is almost killed, Dan and his team must race to find the culprits before they can strike again - or put Mia down for good.

    Story
"probably the worse book i have ever listend to"
If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more?

no idea, certainly not for the well read with some knowledge of how a book is written .there was nothing to absorb. Not well written, Very weak story line. The narrator was terrible, , her interpretation of other characters was , scratchy, and annoying .

What could Desiree Holt have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

choose a better narrator ? put a lot more thought into the story line . make it believable and plausable

What didn’t you like about Bethany Legare’s performance?

    foul words interpreting sexual fantasy

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

none, i have deleted it from my library

"Read it, the narroator will make you crazy"
Would you try another book from Desiree Holt and/or Bethany Legare?

Yes the concept is generally good

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

    Less exposition and redundant conversations.

Would you be willing to try another one of Bethany Legare’s performances?

Only because she it tied to this series. Her voices and accents often come out like cartoon voices. It is distracting and annoying

    Any additional comments?

This would not my first choice for a read or listen. It will however keep you company on the treadmill or driving on lonely highways. The series has potential but the author bogs the story down with annoying redundancy. Like most romantic/suspense the villains are often obvious. Engaging characters you want to route for will allow you to overlook the weak narration and tendency beat a detail to death.Strong alpha men finding equally strong yet feminine women will always appeal to me as both a reader and a listener. Holt presents that aspect well in this and the first novel. The truth is with growth she could be the next Feehan until then I will pick up her books for a listen or a read when I'm in the mood to indulge in something light.
