Eclipse Bay has grown and flourished on the rugged Oregon coast, where the shore can be rocky and forbidding, full of sharp cliffs and hidden coves. But this small town is also filled with secrets as treacherous as the landscape - and rivalries as fierce as an ocean storm....
Their grandfathers hated each other. Their fathers hated each other. And as the next generation of Hartes and Madisons, Hannah and Rafe are expected to hate each other too. But Hannah Harte - a successful wedding consultant with a skeptical view of marriage - remembers the long-ago night on the beach that revealed Rafe as much more than just "that disreputable Madison boy". And Rafe remembers the heroic gesture that proved Hannah's fierce spirit was stronger than any feud - and saved him from near-certain imprisonment.
Now - reunited by a surprising inheritance after years of living their separate lives - Rafe and Hannah return to Eclipse Bay, and the hostilities that still divide, and bind, their families. And they are discovering something that is at once delightful and deeply disturbing: they don't hate each other. Not at all....

"I was surprised to like this book so much!"
This is the story of Hannah and Rafe. Their families hated each other and they continued the tradition. They inherit a property together and they discover that they don't hate each other after all. There are many twist and turns on this story and lots of suspense. I could never figure out who the bad guy who was trying to harm Hanna was. I couldn't stop listening to this story and I finished it in 3 days. Usually it takes me about a week.
The narrator did a good job with this story and I look forward to listening to the next book in this series and more books narrated by Joyce Bean.
So I was looking for a distraction and this book provided just that. It is a nice listen, nothing too heavy, and even has a light crime mystery angle. The romantic development was nice, not a bodice riper.
This was the first book I've read by this author. I enjoyed it and will probably get another of her books. The narrator was pretty good as well.
"loving this series "
i really enjoyed this book and am eager to start the next in the series.
"Couldn't feel it"
Maybe a different narrator, but I couldn't get into it.
No, but I've been a member for 2 years and this is only the second book I couldn't finish.
Hannah. But I think it was the narrator. Her voice reminded me of the blonde bimbo on Liar Liar.
I just could get into it. I didn't feel the passion.
"Wonderful book "
I listened to this book years ago when it 1st came out on cassette. I loved it then and I love it now.
Hana was a little hard to get into mostly toward the end when she was still acting so snobbish but overall enjoyed the story. Narrator did a great job. You always knew who was talking.
"poorly written and narrated"
did not enjoy this book. Narrators. different. voices were irritating., story full of cliches and similar plot to. a Harlequin novel. Unable. to finish listening to the. story.
I really enjoyed listening to Audio it was pleasantly entertaining.

"Good story, great job as always by Joyce Bean"
The story moved along pretty slow at first, thankfully it picked up the pace as I almost lost interest. Although many don't care for Joyce Bean's narration, I like her a lot and have listened to many of the books she has narrated. She's easily distinguished between the characters which makes it easy imagine and follow along.
