As family and friends are swept away without a trace, Amadea is forced into hiding. Thus begins a harrowing journey of survival, first in the Nazi death camps and then as she escapes into the heart of the French resistance and finds a renewed sense of purpose. "Danielle Steel stepped out of the box"
I have read every Danielle Steel novel and many of them twice..I did not rush to read this one because her period writings are not always accurate. I was pleasantly surprised. The book was predicatable at times but worth reading.
