Summary
The date is AD 15. The German chieftain Arminius has been defeated, one of the lost Roman eagles recovered and thousands of German tribesmen slain. Yet these successes aren't nearly enough for senior centurion Lucius Tullus. Not until Arminius is dead, his old legion's eagle found and the enemy tribes completely vanquished will he rest.
But Arminius - devious, fearless - is burning for revenge of his own. Charismatic as ever, he raises another large tribal army, which will carry the Romans the length and breadth of the land. Soon Tullus finds himself in a cauldron of bloodshed, treachery and danger. His mission to retrieve his legion's eagle will be his most perilous yet....

perfection in writing.
the author is one of the best and I have read many books written by him. Historical fact mingled with a little fiction is perfect.

Another Cracker
The final installment of the eagles trilogy is well worth it. Another great addition to many other Ben Kane books

Good but not his best work
I love Ben Kane's books, particularly his historical accuracy, realism and characterisation. However, although an enjoyable read, I found this third book a bit like a really long epilogue. Inevitable I guess due to the historical events, but I was as hooked as I normally am with his work. Still good though - just not his usual outstanding level in my view.

What a truely my amazing series of books I was so very disappointed when I finished the last one and feel at a bit of a lose now. Ben Kane is an auther I will certainly be returning to again and again you keep writing them Mr Kane and I will certainly keep listing to them.

Classic Kane
Another great book from Ben, lots of accurate and interesting detail, a sterling storyline and lovable characters means you really are immersed in the Roman conquests of Germanica. A Hugh recommend to everyone and I cannot wait for the next two.

The personalities of the characters were really brought to life but David.

Another great book by Ben and I hope there is another trilogy in the works for next year. No pressure ben but I'm hooked on your writing, from Hanno to Tullus the adventures have been memorable.
