An agent broken.
MI6 agent Damon Knight prided himself on always being in control. His missions were executed with cold, calculating precision. His club, The Garden, was run with an equally ordered and detached decadence. But his perfect world was shattered by one bullet, fired from the gun of his former partner. That betrayal almost cost him his life and ruined his career. His handlers want him to retire, threatening to revoke his license to kill if he doesn't drop his obsession with a shadowy organization called The Collective. To earn their trust, he has to prove himself on a unique assignment with an equally unusual partner.
A woman tempted.
Penelope Cash has spent her whole life wanting more. More passion. More adventure. But duty has forced her to live a quiet life. Her only excitement is watching the agents of MI6 as they save England and the world. Despite her training, she's only an analyst. The closest she is allowed to danger and intrigue is in her dreams, which are often filled with one Damon Knight. But everything changes when the woman assigned to pose as Damon's submissive on his latest mission is incapacitated. Penny is suddenly faced with a decision. Stay in her safe little world or risk her life, and her heart, for Queen and country.
An enemy revealed.
With the McKay-Taggart team at their side, Damon and Penny hunt an international terrorist across the great cities of Northern Europe. Playing the part of her Master, Damon begins to learn that under Penny's mousy exterior is a passionate submissive, one who just might lay claim to his cold heart. But when Damon's true enemy is brought out of the shadows, it might be Penny who pays the ultimate price.

Story was ok but it took me a while to tune out the appalling version of a British accent. This spoilt what was otherwise good narration
"Another Great Book!"
This series keeps getting better. Loved the story & the characters. Can't wait for the next one. Hopefully it will be Simon & Chelsea's story.
I have read almost all the books in this series and I really like this one right at the top of my list
"I really enjoy this whole series"
Yes, I always get more out of the second listen
I liked Penelope. She started out meek and mild but really came into her own
Hard to say. Damon was really well done.
British Intelligence meets current day James Bond
"Damon, one HOT Brit"
Yes. Outstanding book.
When Basil is killed.
He is just a wonderful narrator.
British boys do it after tea.
Wonderful addition to the Masters and Mercenaries series.
"Absolute perfection!!! "
Once again Lexi Blake knocks it out of the park!! This book has everything from love and lust to suspense, espionage and betrayal. This story starts out sad due to unforeseen circumstances however, it brings two people together in the best way possible. Ryan West did a phenomenal job narrating as always. Can't wait for the next installment to finally hear more about Chelsea and Simon!!! Crossing my fingers that I won't have to wait too long......
As always an action packed, funny, suspenseful, and hot steamy romance. What more do you need with McKay and Taggert.
"Pretty good story"
This novel is in line with most of the others, in this series. It has a little action, an emotionally damaged hero, an emotionally healing heroine, and a little bit of kinky sex. Despite the title, it is not a hard core BDSM, M/s novel. It is more in line with the Fifty Shades level of BDSM. All of the books, in this series, have the same pattern; Man tries to deny his feelings for the woman, woman breaks down his emotional walls and they live HEA. So Basically, it's not a powerful novel that will stick with you but it's somewhat comforting in it predictably.

"Ah, the Brits, the Yanks and an Aussie. Yummy!"
I sigh every time I come to the end of this book whether I'm reading or listening to it. Its like coming to the end of your very favorite fairly and they all live happily ever after. I just LOVE this book and Ryan West does a wonderful job of making varied voices and accents.
For anyone no familiar with the series you can read any of them as standalone. I'm fairly certain curiosity will lead you to read/listen to the rest. The series gets progressively better and better with each book. Don't miss it.
"Love the Masters and Mercenaries series"
Masterful Doms, bratty subs and spy games. What's not to love? Lexi Blake's Masters and Mercenaries series is one of my favorites and Ryan West does an excellent job bringing the characters to life. While I enjoy all the characters Big Tag will always be my favorite.
