Diamonds and Pearl is a gritty, compelling novel from number-one Essence best-selling author K'wan.
They say that good girls like bad boys, and this was especially true for Pearl Stone, a child born of privilege to a drug baron and reputed killer known in the streets as Big Stone. Although the flashy, fast-paced nature of the streets calls to Pearl, she's been brought up to look but not touch. Yet when a young hustler named Diamonds crawls up from the swamps of Louisiana and sets up shop in New York City, everything Pearl was taught flies out the window.
Raised in the wild and schooled on the mean streets of New Orleans, Diamonds is no stranger to hard times and is willing to do whatever it takes to stay above the poverty line, including kill. When an armed robbery turns into mass murder, Diamonds is forced to flee New Orleans and lands in New York where he meets Pearl and, for the first time, finds something he craves more than wealth and power - love. As the stakes get higher, Diamonds has to push away his past if he's to grab hold of his future. But by doing so, will he show Pearl that not all that glitters is gold?

"always love Cary Hite/K'wan combo"
it was a good book. always expect between a K'wan/Cary combo. It was not as entertaining of some of his other ones. I did not get enough of the main character. he seemed interesting, but too vague.
"Never disappointed by K'wan and Cary Hite. "
The story was great, but Cary Hite brought the story to life. The ending left you wanting more. It seemed like K'wan ran out of time or something.
Like the added dynamic of black magic to the common theme of hood novel/love story.
Sometimes the many characters are very hard to keep up with. The ending sucks though!
Good read. I'm a huge fan of K'Wan and Cary. Can't wait for the sequel. Hurry up please!!!
the story was really good and interesting but should have been a bit longer though
"N t I v"
Tha shit great job with this one can't wait for the next one. We royalty!!!!
"A lot more"
the narrator makes the story more enjoyable with the description of the characters.
The character knowledge seems to the most normal and almost develop character.
The scene in the school that resulted in the fight
Knowledge because he seems to be the most normal and realistic character.
K'wan does another magnificent job at weaving a great story of hood stuff and love. This is a absolutely must listen! #BestAuthorAlive
