Emma is content. She's got a promising career in front of her, great friends, and a pretty amazing family. But her love life has been a little lacking lately. That's when fate steps in, and she crashes into a tall, dark and handsome man - Teren Adams. He's single, successful, an extraordinary gentleman, but he's also secretive. And some of his secrets are more unusual than most people's. For instance, he's a "little bit" vampire. He has fangs, incredible hearing, unbelievable speed, and, on occasion, he enjoys drinking a steaming cup of blood. But he's also very much alive. He has a heartbeat, loves steak as well as cappuccinos, and has no problems walking around during the day. Since Teren acts human the majority of the time, the pros far outweigh the cons in Emma's book. But when it becomes apparent that Teren's condition is much more serious than he first lets on, and that being in a relationship with him requires more sacrifices than most would be willing to make, will Emma stay? Is love enough to compensate for a life that will never be anywhere near normal? But then again...what's normal anyway?

"Interesting...that's why I kept reading...."
This book was very interesting. I like to see how an author views their vampire world. They are all different, and I love to see what each type of vamp can do in each series. So I was interested with this one because he is a half vamp. That was a new one to me.
It was sort of boring in the beginning, but I kept on going because I love this author from her series Thoughtless. The author was actually the reason why I even gave this book a shot.
In the end, I would say again that it was interesting. It could have been a little "dirtier" for my taste, but I'll read the next book to see what happens.
Overall: Use a credit if you've got one :)
Probably not. I can't decide if it's the book or the narrator.
Characters seem immature
Difficult to distinguish male voice from female
Hope to get my credit back to use on something better.
"Slow, fizzles out, little intrigue"
I love the way the book started out but I admit; I could not finish it. The book could have been condensed by at least a third without loosing anything from the story and I felt the character spent to much time fretting and creating problems that weren't there. Some good concepts but to much padding!
Look, this is a terrific audio book IF you are into vamps. It's clever, creative, fun, funny, emotional, witty, dramatic, scary and downright interesting. It's got a new take on the vampire world (at least to me) and the performance by Piper Goodeve is nothing short of spectacular. Acting as the sole narrator, she captures all the characters (and there are some doozies) as well as giving validity, substance and believability to the two leads (Teren and Emma). I was not a fan of Ms Stephen's Thoughtless series and did not even attempt to read beyond that first book. So I approached this series with trepidation...but it's gotten good reviews and I LOVE Ms Goodeve's narrative/performance talent. So, I dove in and am glad of it. About to start Bloodlines (book 2). I will not go into the substance/story line of the book as I'd probably spoil it AND you can read that for yourself in any synopsis. What you get from me is how much I ENJOYED this audio book and why.
I loved this book. So nice our that hero is not a macho alpha, I love my alphas but it's a nice change. He is kind, honest, handsome and caring. So nice our heroine is a sweet, beautiful and practical girl. The new twist on the vampire mythology is so intriguing. I can hardly wait to move on to the next story which is downloading as I "speak". The voice actor, Piper Goodeve, is perfect for this character and added so much to my Falling in love with Conversion. Gotta go, I have listening to do.
"Just the right amount of mystery and suspence"
If you like suspense and fantasy with the happily ever after, you'll love this book.
It's very like the Twilight sagas
The narrator's excellence in slipping for male to the many types female voices engages the reader and enhances the experience and feeling of almost watching a movie.
There was a lot of anger with the prejudices but not tears.
"good story line. but.."
I liked it. I wanted to definitely finish it... I felt like it took way to long to get to the peak of the story line and it was filled with way to many mundane day to day details...
I did not like the narrator. at all. period.
"Just loved it"
The story and performance were just wonderful. can't wait to read book 2 and 3
I love S.C. Stephens' books, however this one dragged for me until the last 1/4 of the book (which was great!). I think the story could have been told with the same impact in half the time.
"I love s c stephens"
